Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
 • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
 • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
 • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
 • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

This is my first amv, i would appreciate any comments on it. It's a bleach amv with the music from chevelle, the song is point #1. Any constructive critizism is appreciated.

A simple and decent first vid, rendered unenjoyable by all the subtitles.

Please, if you're going to use illegally downloaded footage, at least either use raws, don't use clips with subtitles, or make the effort to letterbox the footage so the subtitles don't show up.

Yeah... sorry about the subtitles... :x but my excuse is that this was also my first time using a video editing software, so im not all that familiar with the different type of effects. Don't worry, by the next time I upload another vid it will not have any subtitles (hopefully) and it will at least have some sort of effects on it (hopefully). Thanx for your input, ill mess aroud with the software till i find a way to letterbox the subtitles out. Thanx for the tip. :D

If you said that because you feel you need effects to make a good AMV, cleanse your mind of that idea as soon as possible. It simply isn't true. (I would suggest this video as an example of a great video that really has no effects other than a black flash or two and lip synching.)
Conventional wisdom around here is that you should only add effects if they enhance the video somehow, not just because you can.

However, if you just said that because you like putting effects in your videos, then by all means go ahead. I myself am a fan of including effects for no better reason than that they look cool and go with the music. :)

The video editing software that I use is WMM, but it doesn't seem to have a way to letterbox the clips. What I'm trying to say here is that I dont know if it has a way to letterbox the clips or not, and if it doesn't could you all give me the name and price of a good editing software, the cheaper the better ( I'm broke, fresh out of high school, no job, and my resources are limited, very limited) . Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx again :D

there are some great videos that have been made wth WMM and WMM2...

but ill go ahead and be the first to say, buy a decent video editor even if they do cost shitloads. I'm not bashing WMM 1 or 2 in any way, but if your planning on effects in the future. its the best way to go.
