AnimeFringe top 25 out!

Post by Madpierrot » Sun Jan 02, 2005 1:28 pm

AnimeFringe's ( http://www.animefringe.com/ ) annual top 25 best anime websites list is out and AMV is number 19. Man I thought that we could of done better then that, especially with the number of members we have. ( http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/200 ... ure/05.php ) #1 and #2 are no real big surprises and I've got to say that I found a lot of cool new websites I've never heard of before, a Christian Anime site, haha?

Well here's what they had to say about us, it was a pretty nice write up.

"This is THE site for watching, hosting, and discussing anime music videos. With over 250,000 members and over 45,000 AMVs this site is loaded for anyone who enjoys watching or making AMVs. You can find guides to making AMVs and what you will need to get started as well as a message board with people eager to talk about anything anime. If you’re serious and compete in contests or are just a beginner, AnimeMusicVideos.org is the first place you should go."

One has to remember that regardless of how big this site is, AMVs are still a niche in terms of anime fandom. I could have seen the 'Org going as high as #15, but not significantly higher than that.

Still, this is pretty cool. Congrats, Phade!

I am highly surprised that 4chan made it onto that list, with all the problems they have had in the past.

The only real problem 4chan has had is staying online. I think the fact that they're so popular that they can't afford to pay their bandwidth bills is pretty indicative of their popularity.

They're just popular enough to garner a huge bandwidth bill, but not popular enough to garner enough donations to pay it. It's a sad, vicious cycle. Every time it goes offline I shed a tear.

Considering the more "mainstream fandom" content of those sites, I'd say 19 is pretty good.

I'm just happy we beat Megatokyo  Can't stand Megatokyo.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

What's wrong with that?
The Anipike is to anime websites what the Org is to AMV's.
Discovered it a long time ago and it was good.
Haven't seen it in years though.

Personally glad we beat MegaTokyo...
Read some of their threads and got the hell out of there.
Incredible but MT ranks #1 in my personal worst forums list.

Anyhow:  Congratulations Org!!!
