Someone tell him what Yu Yu Hakusho is
umm... it's an anime about a boy named Yusuke who gets hit by a car and comes back alive :) he meets new friends and allies as the series go on... and my fav characters are Kurama and Hiei because they are cool!
It's ur typical DBZ crap... but instead more interesting!
Exactly! And hell yeah! Kurama and Hiei are so cool! Ever wonder if Hiei tripped and fell while running really fast or if kurama's rose got tangled in his hair? ^_^ sorry, but it's too funny to imagine  Nah but they're cool
..... just hit the quote button and place your cursor after the last [/quote] box, you're making it too hard on yourself... :?

Hey, Brolly345, these guys don't have it quite right. he dosen't come back to life, more like he dies but gets a second chance (naturally, there's a bit of a debt to settle). it's a great idea but i'd have to say it goes downhill from there.

??Are you watching the dub version??

Yusuke dies. His body goes cold. He is physically dead, with only the spirit remaining. The Japanese anime makes this very clear. He's about to be buried before his body ceases to be inanimate (legally dead). Only after he makes a deal with Koenma does his heart start up again - before that, he is completely dead. Once the heart is beating, his body is 'back to life', and after his trials, his soul get a physical form again - bringing him back to life.

Now, he does get a second chance. I just don't see why you'd say he didn't die and come back to life. He did. That was the point of his trials, and having someone 'breathe' the life back into him. It's also the 'attention-grabber' of the anime - that they dared to kill off the main character in the first episode.

That said, I think the anime gets good once Kurama and Hiei change sides - and by the Dark Tournament, it's excellent. I don't care much for the pre-sensui arc (no Hiei), or the Makai arc (no Kuwa), but when they're all working together, it's some of the best character interraction I've seen in a 'shonen' anime. But that's just my opinion as a YYH fan. ^_^

Mmmm....

No.

That's the English version's name.

Here's the official Japanese site:

http://pierrot.jp/title/yuyu/index.html

If my reading of the furigana here is correct (and there's a 100% chance it is), the title is indeed pronounced as Yuu Yuu Hakusho
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

yep, dub = Yu Yu Hakusho, original Jap ver = Yuu Yuu Hakusho.

And Dragonrose, to answer your other question, YYH means "White Book on Ghosts" or somethin'. I think the white book refers to some type of record or files, and the ghost part is self-explanatory.

You guys are arguing about how it's pronounced? *shakes head*

My policy is, if you understand what I'm talking about, leave it alone. I don't like seeing a bunch of this pissy "it's spelled like this" crap, so please, guys.... leave it alone.

On a more positive note. YYH is a great show. I remember when it first came on during the days of the badass old school Adult Swim. Every week I waited to see the next episode. I was hooked back then, but then they stopped showing it and I slowly lost interest as they butchered it and put it on Toonami. I would love to see the old Adult Swim come back with all the old animes and a few of the newer ones such as Wolf's Rain.

Yep, just like they add a 'u' to make the long 'o' sound - sometimes. In Japanese/english romanji dictionaries, the "ou" and "long O" are interchangable as long as you pronounce it right. Same thing with the double 'u's to make a 'long u' sound.

Yusuke versus Yuusuke. Pronounce it right, and it doesn't matter how many u's you use. It's not like they typically use romanji in the anime, anyway. They use kanji for the names. ;p
