I hope not, what would they be accomplishing with that? The complete un-Japanification of Eva?

I suspect thats just an early production rumor...for a while people were saying it was going to be New York 3, too....i would wait to see what goes on there.

As I really dislike the show, I'm not too interested in this movie but I'm considering going just for the eye candy.

If it's nothing like the original, at least I'll be entertained by the whining from rabid Eva fans, which is always a good thing. I like to watch them squirm.

Nope. They have only a slug script and a few concept drawings... it's probably cost them about ten bucks so far, and that was just for the pens and paper

I disagree. The original series is flawed enough that there's plenty of room for improvement. Hell, I could write a trilogy of movie scripts myself that would put the anime to shame.

Firstly, they already have a script. Secondly, Tiffany Grant went on record saying that most of the actors will be "of European descent" - i.e., white and most likely American. I consider this a prime example of "something real to complain about."

That will never ever ever ever happen. ADV isn't even considering who could play whom yet. The Hillary Duff thing was just the idle speculation of some mentally deficient magazine columnist and holds no ground in reality. This has been explained many times in the past.
