I don't see it happening at Anime USA tho.
Me too. Since I'm just getting started at making videos, it's cool to meet a lot of new people.

As for Anime USA, I have a feeling it will be a lot bigger than last years, so theres a good possibilty it will have a kicking party. There was a small party last year that was a great time, hopefully next time it'll be bigger.

Hey, I've been making videos for a few months... I've never met any of these people. :-)

It seems like the cool thing for the scene on the east coast now is to have two parties - the big gathering for everyone (including the underaged) and then those who wish to enjoy the fermented substance of their choice can go off and havea mini party away from everyone else AFTER having fun with the sober peepz.

I don't see it happening at Anime USA tho. Good luck to y'all at Otakon, I want a bigass report posted by someone ASAP after the event. It's gonna be a loooong weekend in the Tyrol.
Anime USA might have a dry party. It's just a matter of how long will it last.

But will it have a wet T-shirt contest?

If Tom Gigundous is there, then yes it will have a wet t shirt contest.
However, if you want to see Tom in a wet T-Shirt, you have serious problems.

Vlad: I wasn't reffering to anyone specific.. Scott was just talking about people bitching contests.. and I was just responding to that.
Scott A Melzer wrote:I've been hearing nothing but bitching about how awful this or that contest was, and about how arrogant such-and-such creator is. I'm really happy that we've been able to avoid a lot of that on the East Coast.
I say shrug those people off.. and have fun at the con. What we do, shouldn't impact our real-life too much. It's not like making AMVs is a proffesion for any of us.

I can't wait to meet the bunch of you.. *ugh* 2 weeks and one day!! *ugh* :?

If the party is dry then something else will have to be wet in order to balance things out. The question is how will we get people to participate?

Yeah, I was commenting about the people who would rather whine than have a good time. It seems that more and more of us are concerned with beating each other or being cooler than each other or whatnot. You know what? That burns up energy. It turns you into something you'd probably rather not be.

I don't want to have envy for another creator. I don't want to think that i'm cooler or better than another creator. I think that we all work together to entertain people. We all come together and there's an incredible 8 hours worth of programming set aside for us at the biggest con on the east coast! Isn't that incredible?

Sometimes we just gotta stop and smell the roses.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! Old friends and new, old friends and new.

Hi, I'm new here. so far, i think the site is great! I am the webmaster for www.animeshift.com (don't lookat it now, it's down.) anyway, some friends and me are going to Otakon, and I'd love to meet everyone from here that is going.

On the ground floor (where the vendor's area is) there is (i think if i remember correctly. ) a fountain. we could meet there if you want too.
is that good? let me know.

Alrighty....

I read the entire two pages and it doesn't seem like there is an agreement yet for time and place.

I'll be in the town Friday but I was planning on doing the tourist thing Friday and actually go to the con Saturday. (last time I went I didn't have time to soak up the sights and really want to see the science museum...yeah the scienec museum and inner harbor ^_~) so I am hoping we can agree on Saturday night.

What we should do is make

time-
place- (by vendors area?...after amv panel?)
what things people want to bring to prevent redundancy in terms of snacks, equipment, and bubbly drinks of the carbonated variety ;)

Is someone going to bring a laptop or do all videos need to be on vhs or dvd/vcd?

I'd could bring a vcr, since the dvd player I have doesn't play vcd files

...besides amv watching, is there anime watching or games planned? The last time I walked into a party where the general public was invited to (Ohayocon and they posted signs everywhere) they were playing..a type of game a lady like me would not participate in

I'm so excited for the con, I am watching the 1996 AWA tape
