I'm guessing not a lot of people have seen Giant Robo? It's a shame, too, what a great series. (If I'm wrong and by some miraculous way the overwheliming majority has seen it, beatings will occur).
There are only a few AMVs on the site, and Kusoyaro's "Liberi Fatali" is the best. I'm working on one right now, so...
Right.
Media Blasters is now just releasing it on DVD, but I suggest getting the Korean boxed set (which is all-region).
And even if you don't like super-robot-mecha-action-fighting, do not despair. It isn't about any of those things. Are they in there? Of course, but Giant Robo is really a drama. Absolutely required viewing for any anime fan.

Doing that would be illegal, because bootlegs are illegal. If it's all-region, it's a bootleg.vorx wrote:Media Blasters is now just releasing it on DVD, but I suggest getting the Korean boxed set (which is all-region).
Anyways... I haven't even heard of the stuff you're talking about, and since it's more than likely licensed, I can't download it to see it, and currently have no money to buy/rent it...

Giant Robo was a major MAJOR fav for most of the old-schooler AMVers, though not a lot of people were able to work it into a nice format. EK did her second vid with it way back when, and I did my own as well. (Though not available online because of codec weirdness.)
Be warned, the ending is nearly incomprehensible. Cool as hell, though.

Als Gregor Samsa eines Morgens aus unruhigen Träumen erwachte, fand er sich in seinem Bett zu einem ungeheueren Ungeziefer verwandelt.

Giant Robo RULES.
Glad there's finally a DVD release. I'm not really in a rush though, so I can always wait for the box set.
I've always wanted to remake Liberi Fatali...mainly because I used subtitled VHS for the original version, and there is so much awesome footage that I couldn't use because of that. I dunno though...I have enough trouble making new videos nowadays, I'm not sure how much fun I'd have remaking an old one

I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Purist otaku still seem to criticize the Manga dub for some inaccuracies, but I thought the performances were near-perfect. The original Japanese was dull and pale by comparison. At first I was disappointed that Media Blasters made a new, more accurate dub, but it turns out the DVD includes the original Manga dub as an extra.
Note: AnimeTrax (aka The Right Stuf) has two CDs out for the (very excellent) soundtrack.

Funny thing. If I hadn't seen that AMV, I doubt I'd have bought the GR boxed set. Thank you, good job!
The ending makes a lot more sense in the Japanese version...
Basically...ah, screw it. I don't want to spoil. It's just too good.
I thought most of the voice acting in the Animaze dub fine, aside from Kenji's French accent. The newest dub fixes some inaccuracies, but is flat.
Also, the fact that in the animaze dub, Daisaku's voice changes twice. O_O
Too bad Steven Blum didn't do Genya in the new dub. That was probably my favourite voice acting in the first dub.
Well, since I suck at life, I'm sure my Under Ice/Giant Robo AMV will to. But it will be done and downloadable eventually.
