Star Ratings Got You Seeing Stars?

I've noticed with my videos and heard from some other members that while opinion ratings are very high, star ratings are lower twards the average point. Do some people just enter 3 stars for every video they download? This forum is started for all of you guys, feel free to post links to your vids here so everyone can download your vids and give fair star ratings.

I enter 3 more often than anything else.

Generally it's because people are required to give a star rating when they download a video, while they're not required to leave an opinion (even though it's nice). So, there are more numbers to average with the star ratings than the opinions, which results in a more average result 9usually somewhere between 3 and 4).

Honestly, the star rating system is bloody stupid. Most people just give 3 so they can get it over with.

Additionally, people generally leave unsolicited opinions only for videos that they feel strongly one way or the other about, leading to either a high or low opinion rating, rather than one that is more average. (That is, unless the opinion was solicited from the Opinion Exchange forum, or a very useful members who opinions everything he/she downloads happens to see your AMV).

4s and 5s I reserve for vids I really like, or ones I think are *really* good. 1s and 2s are for vids I hated, or ones I thought were terrible (some purposely so). That means most videos I download get a 3 - I don't hate or love that many amvs, and I don't see that many absolutely excellent or absolutely terrible videos (to give the extreme highs and lows to).

3 is what I give videos that were so average I won't recall seeing it next week, which is most of what I download. If you'd prefer I could try and make 1 the average instead though.

You'd have to give every video a 1 then. . . which in principle is no better than giving every video a 3. :-\
