he has hot chicks on stage with him in concert(like all rap but no rock acts). that, and the fact that his music is tolerable, makes me not hate him. :?

It's the same with any celebrity you can't stand.
not realy, theres some bands I like, and I still don't see why people flip out over them, I mean sure their music is good, and most of the time the bands I listen to have looks to back up their talent, but their not that different from everyone else, in some ways they are, but still you get my point...i hope ^_^

well, if we want to break it down it's any group of people and their "celebrities" those people get a bit more importance because of what they've done in their respective community.
for example.

A bunch of hardcore otaku flipping out over their favorite voice actor/actress.

The guy who did the voice of yoda at a sci-fi convention.

classic rock fans and Carlos Santana.

etc etc.

</sigh>.... Whatever

Hey, Undo!! I have to point out that Snoop's 'debut' was actually on the sound track for the movie 'Deep Cover' w/ the then 'Larry' (Morpheus) Fishburn and Jeff Goldblum. Thus the phrases "1-8-7 on a undercover cop" and "Beeeoch!!" were born; Sidenote-> Dr. Dre also produced that soundtrack as well. But hey, everybody has a right to their own opinion. If the man says rap suks, then to him it sucks major ass. Personally, I think that 'Rap' (read mainstream "urban" music) is now Pop and 'Hip Hop' (read underground stuff that you hear on college radio) is the "real music". Don't get me wrong, there have been some good rap songs, but once any genre of music goes mainstream, it's only a matter of time before it gets watered down and has no substance. Hell, i'm willing to bet that half of the people here that even listen to rap music (read again 'mainstream') never even heard of OutKast untill Stankonia, and that was the group's fourth albulm!! Or never knew of The Roots before "Phrenology" or "Things Fall apart"; Public Enemy before "It takes a nation of Millions..."; 50 cents or for that matter, Eminem, when all they did was talk trash on somebody's mix tape. I can remember when 'rap' music was considered a passing fad and people didn't give a damn about it untill record executives figured that they could make money from it. Now everybody's F$%king rapping and scratching like hip hop djs. If you don't believe me, look how it crossed over into bands like Linkin Park, or Rage Against the Machine, or Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and the list goes on and on. My point?... We all have different types of music that we like more than others and won't even listen to certain other types of music untill one day, we hear something that catches out attention, whether its rap, classical, rock, metal, etc.. Good music is good music. And thus starts the quest to find out about this 'new music' that we never gave a rat's ass about (and as far as metal goes, f@$k what you heard, Judas Priest [with Rob Halford] Rules, hands down! Anyway that's my 2 cents...
