You can get the Dazzle DVC 150 and Pinnacle Studios 8 for $150. The DVC 150 captures nicely and that's what I've been using for the past 6 months now. Now I mainly use Adobe to edit in and also After Effects, but I still prefer to capture my footage with the DVC 150 because it takes less time and space.

That sounds like Vegas to me. :o

Actually, no single program is going to have EVERYthing you need. And stability is often more important than capability. Otherwise, Windows Movie Maker would have a better reputation.

Just go to the software lists.

Most of the 'good' stuff has a decent demo period, so you can try all of the major programs, Premiere, and Vegas for example.

Plenty of people have made some great videos using the 'free' Windows Movie Maker as well.

Get service pack 2 from www.microsoft.com and upgrade to wmm2.1 . Its supose to be more stable.

and Avid's free player is being pissy with my .avis I try to import them and it says to choose another drive cause my C: is full...so it seems I'm out of space >_< with 3 gb of free space.
3GB isnt exactly alot of space. If thats all you have free, you should probably get a new hard disk.

I don't think I want to pay $500 or even $100 for the software though. Good lord is this stuff expensive or what?!
$100 isnt alot of money when editing. The cost of anime dvd's for source footage will quickly emcompase that figure :P
