Some more trivia for the pile:
-During the final battle in 'Macross: Do You Remember Love?' (more specifically, the scene when Hikaru fires off several of his missiles inside Bodolza's fortress) if you look carefully, you can spot a sake flask and a can of Budweiser amongst the explosives
-The OVA 'Getter Robo: Armageddon' makes several nods to U.S. sci-fi titles (ex. an arctic team research member named 'McCreedy' like the protagonist in 'The Thing', one panel showing the registration number on Hayato's Tower to be NCC-1701F (a nod to the Enterprise line from Star Trek.))
-The opening credits sequence of Mazinger Z movie 1 contains several pieces of fanart made by some of the series' younger viewers
...that's some of the more unique ones I can remember for now...got others, they're just not firing ATM

On topic: I don't have any fun facts to share, sorry.
