The legend is Xiyugi (journey to the west) and the legend is fairly famous, Saiyuki is also a reenactmentof that legend.
I was wondering what that story was called. I've been wanting to read it, does anyone know where to find it?

On topic: I don't have any fun facts to share, sorry.
I actually had to read this story for my Asian Civ class here at college and it was quite good.

Here's the version I read:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 68-8973762

I certainly recommend it.

Um, I think you mean Xi You Ji (pronounced like "Shee-Yoe-Jee"). I'm Chinese, so just take my word for it. It means something like "Journey to the North" because the main characters are heading north to find something(Don't remeber why though. It's been a while since I read that story). The group consists of a holy monk who's flesh gives immortality to whoever eats him, a humanoid monkey thing, a humanoid pig thing, and a guy who is like a water demon (or whatever term you like).

Um... I can't really think of a cool fact right now, so let's just say that my little tid-bit on Xi You Ji was my anime-related fact! ^_^;;

Thank you.
Now I don't have an excuse to be wrong about that..
Except I hear the english translation called "Journey to the West" instead of "Journey to the North", so I'll stick to that. (Must remember Xi You Ji)

More anime facts (I'm running out! :( )

Ken Akamatsu based the characters Keitaro Urashima and Hitoshi Kobe on himself.

I didn't know there was a Kurama valley, too! ^__^

There's also a Mt Kurama to go with Mt Hiei. It's Kurama Yama, or "Horse Saddle Mountain."

So there's a valley and mountain named after him? Wow, Kurama must be a really popular name then...

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho was a big fan of the band Metallica. He even added a part to his manga where Kuwabara goes to a 'Megallica' concert.
