Although this video technically wasn't "recently" released (as in last couple of days) i've only just been able to get around to posting in this forum. The video uses Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust to the song "Haunted" by Evanescence. Upon revealing this video to my fellow members i was blown away by the amazing responses.

Here is a taste of what people thought:

"The anime-music combination for this video was excellent... The creepy opening followed by the windows shooting open on musical cue truly let the viewer know that this video is going to be good... How you portrayed the final fight scene along with the cool sound of the music literally gave me goosebumps... Tthere is not a thing wrong here..." - Sephiroth X (creator of such AMV's as, "In My Dreams", "Into My Eyes", and "Never Be Alright")

"This is one of the best videos I 've seen in ages, and one of the top few to come out of our studio..." - Archangel Zero (creator of such AMV's as "Hold So Dear", "Dying Tonight", and "Gravity")

"This made my jaw drop... Timings all completely dead-on, you knew what you were doing with every single frame... Such concentration and dedication is impressive to the extreme... I don't think I've seen any other vids use lots of your edit-types... everything is so great..." - _Ice-Angel_ (creator of such AMV's as "Drown The Monster", "Collision Of Fantasies", and "Cloud Is The Bullgod!")

"FLAWLESS VICTORY... Absolutely incredible... This is such a breath of fresh air for DZX... Wow..." - SqiKy_kLeen (creator of such AMV's as "Record 1", "Worst Is Over" and "The Cage")

"It captures you from the start and improves as the video continues... I seriously enjoyed the subtle effect of the window crashing open... The scenes zooming into themselves are awesome... Overlays are astounding... Towards the end the action picks up and video editing becomes an art... Something a master would create..." - AltruisticCrono (creator of such AMV's as "Never Turn Away", "Death Is No Option", and "Complete Authority")

so yeh i was blown away by the amazing response of this video and so i thought i'd share it with the rest of the a-m-v.org community. And what better way to do that then to post it in the Annoucements forum?

If you do download this video, please leave an opinion, and if you enjoy it, don't forget to spread the word and tell all your friends about Hollow.

I knew there was no point posting in the forum >_<

People just take one look, assume it's a newbie's video that's no good, and leave. This my only be my 5th video, but it's still not some newbie video that's been slapped together in a few hours. This video was 2 and 1/2 Months in the making. I didn't just randomly put scenes in to fill time, I went through and hand picked specifics parts of scenes, edited them, sometimes painstakingly frame-by-frame, and then placed them amongst the other handpicked scenes. This video was worked hard on, and it should show... If people would actually notice it >_<

Out of the 7 review i've had so far my average out of ten for the opinions categories are as follows:

Originality - 9.4
Visual - 10
Sound - 10
Synch (action) - 9.8
Effects - 9.6
Effort - 10
Re-view - 9.2
Overall - 10

So please view my video, I just want some recognition for the long hours each day for two and a half months that I put into this video.

Not everyone replies instantly,

Some people download videos overnight, and others have bad ISP.

I'm sure people will come soon, as for me im having trouble downloading videos so ill be downloading this when i can figure the problem.

I downloaded it earier when you first posted but hadn't gotten around to watching it. Overall it was good but I didn't like the logo in the bottom right corner, the fact that the titles you used had interlacing problems or the a number of the effects used (The red flashes and Zoom fades seemed out of place/overused).

Addendum: If I were to op it I probably would have knocked the originality score a little also as there is a pretty good video using the exact same combination that came out in 2003.

Hmmm, kinda torn about what to think on this one. There's a lot I like, and a lot I don't. I'll be breif now and perhaps leave a full op in the future.

Liked: use of overlays, color, atomsphere, much of the animation sych.
Not liked: Red flashes, some of the fast fading near the end that was syched to anything, that zoom effect, focusing more on action with a song/anime combo that could easily create a great story.

All things considered though, it's the 2nd best vid I've seen using that song.

4/5
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

50 seconds of bumper at the end? That's just uncool. Bandwith isn't free, you know.

i totally respect that dude. I'd think the same thing if I saw that ^_^

but the real reason i posted all that is because sometimes people need incentive to download a video, so I listed some of the opinions i have recieved from others so it wouldn't appear that i was just going on about how good i was. although that's how it turned out anyway >_< - doh
besides when i released this i had proud feelings about it because compared to previous videos by me it was good, but all in all i've been a bit "meh" about this video, so i'm not really full of myself, i'm just tryna express other peoples opinions, because if i came on here and said what i thought of it people would probably avoid it all together, because if a creator isn't proud of his video, then there's obviously something wrong. but yeh i see what you mean, thanks anyway ^_^

Ibanix - yeh i kno, long credits. Something to cut back on next time.
SSJVegita0609 - Thanks for the open and honest opinion about what you liked/disliked. It's wierd though, because i do get mixed opinions about this video sometimes. Some of the things you said you like are things others dislike, and some of the things you dislike are things others do like. Well everyone is a unique individual i guess so people like/dislike different things. Once again thankyou for the honest opinion, will work on some of the things you mention in the future.
Corran - yeh when i got the idea for this vid i ran a search and saw that, although i don't have Broadband so i was unable to download it and view it... that's a good thing as well as a bad thing though i guess. Good in that i was not influenced by that video and mimicked it, bad in the fact that i cannot compare the two. When i get broadband (soon) that one will definately be one of the first i get just so i can have a look. Yeh the watermark in the bottom right corner actually has a purpose there. It's not just to advertise our company, it's also to help prevent having clips from our videos ripped and put into other videos. A little overprotective i guess but we just work so hard we wanna protect our precious ^_^ but thanks for your thoughts, will remember them for future videos.
PetitLove - yeh i kno but i posted that second post for two reasons, 1) because i was in a pretty bad mood this morning (even so, it ain't a good idea to then post on the forum and have it influenced by your emotions) and 2) the topic was drifting down, and i bringing it back up so people who were d/ling or hadn't got around to it were able to find it, and not forget about it, etc.

thanks for the responses people, and for future reference i'm not full of myself, just trying to show other people that it "might" be worth a download.
