I use to see the first season of Beyblade. and the rest, I'm not really into it. V-Force is one of the most crappiest series ever. I mean, I'm really lost at it? Are they have some sort of torurnament or something? All they doing is dipping around in some island or laboratory or whatever... o.o

In the last episode of Beyblade G-Revolution the main star Takao battles his opponent in the sky. He is flying.

Nelvana, the fools that dubbed the anime ruined the show. They especially ruined G-Revolution with all the cuts and changes they made. G-Rev is actually much different from the past two seasons of beyblade. It's much more violent. One character even died. There was even blood too. But Nelvana cut and changed every possiable scene of violence out just to keep their younger viewers happy and to stop parents from complaining.

This may not look like much, but it's a huge turn around for the beyblade anime.

As for the beyblade toys...

Some of you couldn't even delve deep enough into Beyblade to see that you can customize them. It's also pretty insulting how you blindly called Beyblading 'nerdy' when more than half of you most likely play some card game or some video game that could be considered equally 'nerdy' or even moreso than Beyblading.

Beyblade is a game of skill, strategy and even heart. I'm a very well known Blader on the advanced Beyblade forums.

For those of you who couldn't even put in the time to google search for 'Beyblade', I'll give you a run-over.

Beyblade is a game of battling tops, shot with 'shooters' by pulling a 'winder' through the 'shooter', and therefore launching the Beyblade spinning into the arena at around 5000 RPM, or 6000 in the cases of some tops. To win a battle, your top must knock the other top into the pocket, spin longer than it does, or destroy the opponent's Beyblade.

A Beyblade is made from five parts.

Bit Chip: Part that is attached to the attack ring. It has a small sticker with a graphic of a beast on it. It's for the most part, a decoration piece.

Attack Ring: The part that contacts the opponent the most. There are spikey, acute angled attack rings that hit the opponent very hard. These are used to knock lighter Beyblades out of the arena. Some are smooth, and even thin to cut drag. These types of attack rings can make it easier to spin longer than the opponent. Heavy, rounded attack rings don't get knocked out of the arena easily, and can counter the spikey ones. There are other specialized kinds of attack rings, and there are too many to list here.

Weight Disk: A die-cast metal disk in the center of the Beyblade. It's the main distribution of weight, and comes in three basic types: Heavy, Balance and Wide. Heavy is small and heavy, and the weight is focused towards the center. It causes the Bey to spin faster. Wide is wide and light, focusing weight towards the outside. It spins slower, but maintains spin better. Also higher centrifugal force, rebounding the opponent for more duration of the battle. Balance is inbetween these two, being of moderate size and weight. Some specialized Weight Disks have metal 'prongs', or are completely rounded and wide.

Spin Gear: The Spin Gear is the part housed within the 'Blade Base'. It determines the spin direction of the top, being clockwise (right), or counterclockwise (left). Most Beyblades are right spin. Inside the spin gear, many things can be housed. A little metal ring, a large 8 gram metal core, a powerful neyodium boron magnet, or a free spinning shaft with shielded bearings supporting it. Other options exist. The spin gear adds customization ability to the Beyblade, and is an integral part of it's construction. Some bases don't have customizable spin gears.

Blade Base: The Blade Base is the bottom part on a Beyblade which has the tip, which the Beyblade spins on. Tips come in all shapes and sizes. Here are some tip types:

Sharp: Beyblade stays in the center and maintains endurance. It's mainly used for endurance (uses thin, aerodynamic attack ring) and defensive types (uses rounded, heavy attack ring) , but the material it's made from helps determine what type it will be used for.

Flat: A flat tip causes the top to move around the stadium very quickly. Attack types (spikey, acute angled attack ring) are really the only types that use flat tips. With this momentum, plus the high impact points, allow the top to knock the other one out.

Semiflat: Imagine a sharp tip slightly flattened at the tip. It moves around the stadium a little bit, but not like a flat tip. It has many usages, and can be used somewhat to knock the opponent around and still have energy to outspin them. These are usually used with endurance type attack rings to make a combo type called a 'balancer'.

hemisphere: A 'ball' tip if you will, staying in the center like a sharp tip, but having more contact with the stadium floor, allowing for more friction, which makes it harder to knock the Beyblade around.

Bearing: Some Beyblades have tips connected to a long metal shaft, supported by shielded bearings. These are used for endurance type Beyblades, and in opposite spin direction of the opponent, can 'steal' spin from thier tops, creating a combo called a 'zombie'.

Tips can be made from materials such as rubber, plastic, metal or POM plastic. All produce different effects. POM has the least friction, and rubber has the most. Rubber sharp is used for some defensive types, and rubber flat is used for some attack types, but the majority of Beyblades have plastic tips.

The Blade Base has other attributes too, like weight and height. A lower one can allow the attack ring to get under the opponent and lift them up, especially if the attack ring has a slant, creating 'upper attack'. Some are tall, allowing the attack ring to knock the opponent down. The attack ring can have a downwards slant, aiding in this type of attack called 'force smash'.

Shooter: The shooter shoots the blade into the stadium. Some have higher RPM Than others. The use for this part is obvious. We can attach a handle to one of these, called a 'grip'. We can customize this grip with different accessories to suit our needs.

Winder: The winder is the long, toothed piece of plastic that is pulled through the shooter. These winders vary in length and material. Some material has less friction that others.

Beyblade is about selecting the proper top to counter the opponent's top. Here's how it works.

Endurance beats defense. Defense beats attack. Attack beats endurance.

Defense types are heavy, and have enough endurance to outspin an attack type after it's withstood it's hits. However, it can't outspin a good endurance type, which normally has much more power to outspin.

Attack types are fast, and can knock light endurance types from the stadium. But it's hard to beat a good defense type with one of these. The weight and round form makes it hard to knock them out.

It requires skill and imagination to put together these combos and work with them. As for the actual usage, it requires skill to use them in a Beystadium. Using them against an opponent, you have to be sure you select the right one; the decision is final once you have selected. Then, use special 'shot techniques' to shoot the Bey into the stadium. You can shoot straight in the center for endurance types, giving it the most balance at landing. You can slant it to make the Bey move in a different pattern. You can trick the opponent into thinking you're shooting in one area, and then move the shooter to another area right before shot (some opponents aim to smash your Bey out of the stadium at first contact). You can use special techniques such as Gattyaki, Sliding Shoot, Gliding Shoot, Catapult Shoot, etc...

Getting through a tournament is hard work. Customizing and testing is hard work. It's a very strategic and fun game for us. I'm on a Beyblade team called AeroDyne Mercury, and we have six tournaments in the USA and Europe to take part in in 2005. We also have seven or eight teams waiting to challenge us.

For us, teamwork and friendship is part of the game too. Even with this, I can't begin to tell you about the options, originality and strategy of Beyblade.

We paint our parts and grips, make custom stickers, and do everything within legal standards to make our Beys original to ourselves. There are rules against modifying (like cutting or gluing or melting the parts, or making your own parts), so we don't do that. But we are allowed to paint and make stickers. =D

Anyway, Beyblade is not 'pull the ripcord and watch' as you might make it out to be. I'm 15, the members of my team are too. I'm not a nerd either... I'm 6' 4" and 270 pounds... xD

The only thing worse than this show, is the fact that this thread was brought back, and that I now know more about Beyblade than I ever wanted to. Locked.
