Heh, well I know I wasn't the first to answer, but I thought of the ships as well since I believe it was the Akagi which was in the movie "Midway" (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Akagi was one of the six air craft carriers that participated in the Pearl Harbor attack and served as the flagship of those carriers. 7 months later it was damaged beyond repair by the USS Enterprise (not Kirk's Enterprise

) at Midway and scuttled.
