Proffessor your missing the point it should not be intended for 10 year old girls ok this film would be fun to watch if you were tripping with your friends. its an acid movie!!!! watch it make your own oppinion I was not a fan of Naussica so you might like it better. I think Kiki and laputa are the 2 films disney should release in theatres here.

Yeah Kiki and Laputa were great. But I've loved every Miyazaki film so far... I don't think he'll disappoint me. Frankly, if you watch a movie with a totally open mind, you'll probably end up liking at least some aspects of it.

And as for the whole "intended for 10 year old girls" thing. That doesn't bother me. I don't think that all that many people will understand this comparison, but C.S. Lewis wrote his Chronicles of Narnia intended for kids under 10 to get them interested in reading. But I've noticed that as long as you understand that, it's actually a really good fantasy series. In order to enjoy life, we must all act like children at times. If that means acting like a 10 year old girl, then... nah forget that. But I think it'll be good. :D
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Urgh you're missing the point maybe I don't know. This movie should not be shown to a 10 year old girl. A bunch of tripping teenagers yes a 10 year old girl no.

I think you're missing the point... but then I suppose I'll have to see the movie. Along the lines of tripping teens, just think of Alice in Wonderland. I loved that movie when I was kid. But then, I never was a 10 year old girl...

ever hear of GotFF? :)

anyways, as for the topic at hand, you can have whatever opinion you like, and i dont wanna argue with you because you seem to ignore/not see a big part of many people statements, and that would just frustrate me, so ill just post my opinion...

I believe that Ghibli and Miyazaki have created some of the best anime I have ever seen, and whether or not I have liked a lot of his work, I can still see the quality ( i happened to not like GotFF...which is almost a sin nowadays with otaku)

Don't waste your time.

Mr. Oni is just a moron, if I am to make judgements based on his post.

If a story has any complexity, or doesn't fit into this narrow scope he has created for himself, then he just resorts to saying it sucks.

I was at the premire of Spirited Away... most of the audience were well over 10, and they all laughed and smiled and applauded the film.

It is a true masterpiece and no matter how many times Mr. Oni writes how much it sucks and no matter how many emoticons and exclamation points he adds, it won't change the fact that Studio Ghibli has provided us with another exceptional film.

We should feel sad for Mr. Oni and his pathetic little world he has to live in day in and day out.

Mroni wrote:It's a horrible movie why disney is bringing this piece of crap over here is above me. It is susposed to be for 10 year old girls. I wouldn't let a 10 year old girl 100 feet from the tape. The little girl plays with a shit monster!!! No lie. This stuff might make sense to japs it's part of thier culture that I don't understand and don't want to. Miyazaki is a hippy wierdo when it comes down to it. I like half of his movies. The other half are all eco nut wierdo movies. Why don't they just dub and release Laputa in theartres it's by far his best.

Wow......this is flame bait isn't it? I mean seriously, if your serious, well, your a fucking idiot. I'm all for people having the rigth to their own opinions, but opinions are pretty much meaningless if there based on the same amout of pure ignorance your post displays. I'm not even gonna bother telling you what is wrong with everything you said, it's not worth me wasting my time on someone who is so unbelievably narrow minded and...for lack of a better word, uncultured.

I think I would get freaked out at some of his stuff. Like that catbus in Totoro... That thing looked freaky and menacing! Then the parents turn into pigs in Spirited Away and grumpy slobby pigs at that.. that would freak me out. Maybe it's different in Japan, but some of that stuff tis scary ;)
