I apparently won Best Action... I'm finding this out only by curiously going to their site almost an entire month after the con, and seeing my name mispelled there under "Best Action".
I stole my pants from Napoleon, and started the capri trend.

I can only say, we had a bunch of problems in our AMV contest that drove us all nuts. followed by the worst thing. most of our staff left for christmas vacation right after the convention...so unfortunately all the info you guys wanted and deserved was not posted until the first weeks of January.

While we did announce the winners of the contest Sunday - that will never be done that way again...I know some other cons do that, but i did not likey that at all...T_T

Our site does show the winners and the winner of "Best of Show" actually lives in Guatemala so he could not make an appearance, but he is really happy he won the Plasma Screen. It is being hand delivered to his family here in Miami (apparently they have a warehouse here)

for St. Louis, the contest is being run differently. all EXPOS will run in the video rooms during evenings, tributes will also run in these rooms.

In St. Louis we will only have the 2 hour run on Saturday. no delays! the seating schedule will be in the conbook - if we get 159 videos as we did in Miami the top 2 hours will be played leading to the winners which will be announced at that time and handed their prizes.

Forgive me for any hyping of the contest. We only wanted to advertise its first of a kind size of prize. which I think the winner was very deserving of. some of you guys I have spoken too in regards to winning your category - sorry promodo if you name is mispelled, pop me an IM and i will get it fixed. all your videos were great. we are sorry if they played sequentially, rebuilding many of them from a hacked site was not easy. and some of your videos were misplaced.

I have a few ideas on how to make it up to all of you so give me some time and it will be done. ^_^

oh yeah - Koopis! damn I still get chills when I watch your Rahxephon video...^_^

Thank you all for the constructive criticism - We have new staff working on the AMV contest for St. Louis that will not make the same mistakes as in Miami, I hope I will deliver the contest everyone deserves.

if you have questions for him - send them to

Hey Manny, Just to Add to the constructive criticism and overall quality of the show. try to make sure you're a bit stricter on the entries. such as no "divX logo on the vid" and definetly none that show it was ripped off the TV or downloaded from the web (you know, the tacky Cartoon network logo on the corner of the video) that way the entries showed to the crowd will be of better quality and make for a better show overall.

Metropolis Objection

Post by zamora » Sat Jan 29, 2005 9:22 pm

Hi everybody: :D

My name is Jose Zamora from "Mistica 21 Production", i only want to thank all the people that made a critic of my video "Metropolis Objetion". The only thing that i love to do is see a Good Anime Serie or Movie and made videos for all the people that love to see the AMV.

I want to apologize because i couldn't go to the event but i live in Guatemala and i am working here.

Soon i will upload the video in his complete version. that is because the video had to be less than 5 minutes.

by the way i want to send a greeting to the next people: "Vicbond007, Aluminium, Ermac, NHMK, Random Variable and Kusoyaro" i love their work and soon i will see the work of everybody in the ORG.

I have the dream of participate in the ANIMIX 2 if there is one....

Thanks for all and God blesses U All.

yeah the hard part is telling someone, err...yeah no divx ads...errr...crap just leave it in...

^_^

I try to be flexible and not allow the really nasty items liked hacked codecs that crash the AMV viewing and such.

zamora...Woot!

I am thinking of running another AMV event here in Miami before december as a preview of the competitors. in other words. the people that compete in Kunicon Miami Beach in 2005 compete in this preview event and then use different videos for December - using the same genre. with a preview of the style and technique they will be editing in...not sure if this makes much sense...XD

I will put it on the forum in an easier explanation when its planned out.

and invite back all the competitors from OtakuCon Miami Beach 2004
