Anyone Know Any Non-hentai Shoujo-ai/Yuri Shows?

Seriously, I think Yaoi is taking over the freakin world, one fangirl at a time. The only non-pornographic yuri anime I know is Utena, but that's it. Do any other yuri shows even exist?! Or are we all doomed to future years FAKE and Gravitaion-esque shows?

Kannaduki no Miko and Maria-sama ga Miteru.

Maria-sama is the one I recommend since the characterization is really good, though be aware it moves at a VERY slow pace (damn, I get back on that series).

Kannaduki no Miko, well.....it has giant mechas.

What you're looking for is shoujo-ai. Maria-sama ga Miteru was my first thought; it's mentioned. There's also the very old, but still good (plotwise) Rose of Versailles / Lady Oscar, which is primarily hetero but has some gender confusion between the lead character and a supporting chara who follows her around like a lovestruck puppy for most of the series.

Oh, what the hell is that long-titled one. Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito. Based on an H-game, but strangely sexless. Centers around a girl following her girlfriend/sister/I'm-not-exactly-sure-what's-up-with-them from one world to the next.

And just FYI - the existence or popularity of shounen-ai has nothing to do with the existence or popularity of shoujo-ai. If you think the big bad yaoi fans are "stealing" something from you, please up your meds, because the two have nothing to do with one another or with hetero ecchi. Don't blame somebody else because your favorite type of anime isn't as popular - just buy more of it and popularize it so more of it gets shipped out of Japan. That's how the yaoi fangirls did it. So stop whining and put your money where your mouth is.

Well... it says Shoujo-ai on the topic title doesn't it? And yuri doesn't necessarily mean hentai. If a show has YURI instead of Shoujo-ai in the genre, that means the relationship in that show will consist of more than just snuggles, cuddles, and puppy kisses.

I definitely recommend Cardcaptor Sakura in this category.

It has to be the most complex Shonen-ai / Shuojo-ai relationships I've ever read in 12 manga (and the uncut Japanese anime, with most of it being lifted straight from the manga storyline).

The relationships get even more bizzare when one of Sakura's classmates (who is 11 or 12) gets engage to marry... their teacher!

CCS is a must-read, just for the wacky relationships.
