anyone like non-anime japanese movies?

Post by dragonseyez » Tue Feb 15, 2005 2:49 pm

hey, does anyone here watch live-action japanese films? have u heard of "Purple Butterfly" (starring the lovely though not japanese Zhang Ziyi), "Bright Future' (intense movie about a man, a murder and a jellyfish), "Dolls" (it's might as well be anime, it's so pretty), or "Last Life in the Universe" (kinda like "lost in translation" but in Thailand w/yakuzas)? they're all AWESOME movies...check em out at http://www.palmpictures.com and give non-anime a chance

Well since you seem to know japanese movies, maybe you could tell the title of this movie i saw at anime-fest 2 years ago. It was about these guys in high school and they decide to join this swim team, but they end up becoming a sincronized swim team. It was one of the funniest movies i have ever seen and i have always wanted to know the name of it so i could purchase it. thanks. :D

Ive seen 2 and they were both decent, but id say that its no better or worse than watching american movies.

Sadly i cant remember what they were called. One was Princess Blade or sumpin like that and the other was about some school kids who were put on some island and had to kill each other (I saw a clip from it in some amv... i think one of mexican junior's?).

Love Letter is the best Japanese movie I've seen so far. :)

Yea, I'm sappy like that...
