So far, I've found 3 videos that each celebrate anime in their own way: one for general, one for yaoi, and one for the dark side (Halloween-type stuff). These are all wonderful videos, but I was hoping I could find other such introduction videos. Anything that dispels the idea that that Japanese cartoons are childish will do (though I don't care so much about that if the idea is humor). The only theme I would not like is hentai. Hentai and anime feel like seperate ideas to me, and I highly doubt that someone introduced to anime through hentai would gain any more appreciation for anime.
I should note that I do not intend on actually introducing anyone into anime with them. It's just a fetish, if you will.
Like I said, I prefer intros over tributes. Tribute videos come with the idea that these things deserve recognition and should be celebrated. Introductions merely show elements of what it's all about and let the viewer decide for himself. I don't know if that makes sense to you guys, so compare "The AMV Before Halloween" by shiningfingerstudios with "Why? - A Salute to Anime Men" by MaachaQ. They're both great videos, but the latter is more of a salute than an introduction.Suddenly, I get the feeling that I haven't narrowed anything down at all. :p I didn't see a category for this in the suggestion forum, and the tribute/intro line is real to me. I'm sorry if this feels like spam to you all and I hope you can help me.
