Hack Sign What of Sora _Spoilers_

Post by HeavyMetal » Thu Feb 17, 2005 2:11 am

I have two questions that I have not been able to resolve in regards to .Hack//Sign.

I thought I would ask if anyone as a theory in the direction of the answers.

This contains spoilers of end episodes.

Sora
Spoiler wrote:What ever became of Sora?
He falls over in the real world and is captured in 'The World'?

Does he die, go into a coma, or get out like Tsukasa at that time?
Macha (Maha)
Spoiler wrote:Just who the hell was the infamous cat player Maha or Macha (same thing)?

An AI, a player, or a reflection of some of Tsukasa's feelings perhaps.

Answers to those questions can be found in the PS2 games .Hack//Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and Quarantine (well, mainly just Quarantine, but you have to play the other ones to know what's going on). The story takes place a few years later, so you will run into those characters (and others) again or at least hear mention of them. Actualy I don't remember too much about what Macha really is, but it's all explained there.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

hm... didn't go to the trouble of reading the spoilers... but if you want to know the real story you should collect all the PS2 games, the mangaé .Hack//Legend of the twilight, and preferrably see the TV-show, too :P

Hey thanks guys.

I wasn't sure how connected the three were. I have only played the first game.

So the game takes place after .Hack//Sign. Makes sense I suppose with Aura already awake.\
Do Orca and Balmug ever have a role?
They always pop in and back out in everything. I guess they are in the later chapters of the game.

Damn now I have to sit thourgh Twilight. The high pitch voices get on my nerves. I liked Sign's dark story and nice character designs.

Is there a manga I wonder.

Macha Facts to go on.
spoiler wrote:1. Apparently Tsukasa is the only one that can hear him.

2. He apparently dies when Tsukasa is ready to return to the real world.

3. He seems to be independent of the 'The World' a.k.a the voice.

4. Tsukasa did have a memory of a kitten.

5. Macha seems to pity Tsukasa.

6. In the game a cat player exists, but is actually shown as human.

Just in case someone is still listening I found some info.

Macha was a Celtic goddess of war. One of the 3 parts of Morrigan.

Macha took the form of a raven or crow and feed on the heads of her enemies.

She was a strong woman.

And she healed the wounded.

This does seem to have implications.

I don't really plan on ever playing any of the .hack games... so could anyone just brief me on the details?

And aren't there two episodes that weren't shown on CN? What are those about?

There are three:

- .hack//Intermezzo (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=3532), which is available as an extra on the .hack//SIGN Volume 6 DVD ("Terminus"), the Special Edition of Volume 6, and with the Complete Box Set.

- .hack//Unison (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=3770), which is apparently only available with the Volume 6 Special Edition and the Complete Box Set.

- .hack//GIFT (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=3613), which is available on the fourth .hack//Liminality DVD included with the game .hack//QUARANTINE ("Trismegistus")

Intermezzo is mainly a bit of a side-story about Mimiru. It's a really good side episode that just really doesn't fit anywhere in the main story.

Unison is an episode that brings the dothackers (from the .hack video games) together with the players of .hack//SIGN.

GIFT is a Super-Deformed parody of the .hack series, with both of the groups coming together to solve a mystery. It's worth getting the fourth .hack game for, if only to see this OAV and, if you can find it, a hidden encyclopedia of everything .hack...
