Time to put up another question (actually, it's a little overdue; I overslept :P ) First question is still open.

Q1:
CliffD wrote:Okay, this question comes from the OAV series Key the Metal Idol -- sort of.

During its initial VHS and LD release in Japan, media company/distributor Pony Canyon had a special deal going for Key's fans. If you turned in the Proofs of Purchase for the entire series (13 episodes and two movies), you would be sent a CD-single that was not available in stores.

The CD-single only had two tracks, the second of which was a dialogue track. But the first was a song from the series; this particular track, although heard in the series, was not found on ANY of the commercially available Key soundtrack items **.

THE QUESTION: What was the song, AND Who sang it on this special CD-single?

** AFAIK, this particular track is STILL not available, not even on any CDs released by the particular vocalist. And the expiration date for sending in the PoP's of the series (Japanese VHS and LD versions, NOT DVD) expired before the series ever showed up in America.
Q2:
This question comes from the OAV series Shin Kaitei Gunkan (aka Super Atragon).

Around Go Arisaka's neck is a very personal item: a picture locket. And you can tell that it is very personal to Go, as he nearly breaks out into a fist-fight in the cockpit of a helicopter trying to get it back from some others taking a look at it, trying to figure out who's in the picture.

THE QUESTION: Who's portrait is in Go's locket, AND Who (as in which character) made the correct ID in the helicopter?

SPECIAL HINT: The first and second questions ARE related.

Q3:
This question comes from the OAV series Maho Tsukai Tai (aka Magic Users Club).

In one episode, Manga Club President Mizuha Miyama engages in her all-time favorite pastime: torturing Magic Users Club President Takeo Takakura. In the middle of tormenting Takeo, however, Mizuha is interrupted when she is hit by a magic spell. In the end, she appears quite normal (at least, normal for Mizuha), except for something coming out of her head. (Don't worry, it's only temporary.)

THE QUESTION: What is now coming out of Mizuha's head, AND Who cast the spell on her?

SPECIAL HINT: The first, second, and third questions ARE related. And NO, it's NOT that they are from OAVs.

A flower, cast by Akane.

And is the link that they're all related to Junko Iwao, Akane's (and Key's) voice actress?

CORRECTO-MUNDO!!! Let me close all three:

Key the Metal Idol question:
The song contained in the special CD-Single is the Lullaby, sung by Tokiko Mima, aka Key (seiyuu Junko Iwao). Although the Lullaby is found on Key CDs (most notably the Miho Utsuse (Chiyako Shibahara) version, but there's even a version available performed by Key's mother, Toyoko Mima (Kikuko Inoue!)), Key's OWN version of the song (heard in the final episode/movie of the series) can only be found on this special CD-Single. It isn't even available (AFAIK), on Junko Iwao's own music CDs.

Shin Kaitei Gunkan question:
The locket contains a picture of Go's mother (deceased). The person who reveals this information is Annette (seiyuu Junko Iwao).

Maho Tsukai Tai question:
As LantisEscudo stated, it IS a flower that comes out of Mizuha's head (actually, LOTS of flowers!!). The spell was cast by Akane Aikawa (Yes, seiyuu Junko Iwao).

And Yes, I AM a fan of Junko Iwao. :)

While CliffD is a Junko Iwao fan, I'm a fan of Hekiru Shiina. Her songs may be very hit or miss, her anime roles tend to be excellent (or at least very entertaining) ones.

Given I'm also a huge CLAMP fan, I also usually notice when main character voices from CLAMP series show up in minor roles in other series. Hekiru Shiina, most famous for her performance as Hikaru in Magic Knight Rayearth, played a small role in another CLAMP show.

Which one? Bonus points for identifying who she played.

Question:
The Record of Lodoss War OVA and the subsequent Chronicles of the Heroic Knight have a few continuity issues between them. Why?

I think this is right. Lodoss War was originally based off of the books, and due to originally only being able to produce a 13 episode series, events were changed/compounded and characters were even combined in some instances.

Eventually, when the T.V. series was produced, they were able to expand the events and characters into their full form, with the T.V series taking place about half-way through the OVA, starting after the War of Heros and the death of Ghim.
