Creepy/Funky Catholic Music (Latin to dance, rock, etc)

Post by chicgoddess » Sun Feb 20, 2005 12:38 am

I'm making an AMV of Utena and I'm vexed. How am I to find just the right tune? I'm looking for something funky, beat driven, or rocking for fast paced Gothic scenes, has to have Catholic bells, Latin chants, etc. I actually am doing this AMV for a school project; I had the freedom to do any Gothic Text and I have to do a huge presentation on it worth... Like 20% of my grade and the whole project is 50%. College is still cool though. :P Where else could I research women and Japanese culture and ANIME woot woot. Well, enough of my babbling. I'm DESPARATE for something good, or I'll be using Final Fantasy boss music.

:? as cool as it can be... erm...

I looked at what some other people have used that worked for the theme, like Camera Obscura by Enigma or Pompeii... And it doesn't have to be something obscure, it could be something quite popular... Like POSSIBLY Evanescence, but it would be nice if it wasn't ever overplayed.

Thanks so much for your time. It means lots to me. :D

Please private message me if you have ideas. I'll be around for a little while longer and I'll try to check tomorrow, if you don't want to message me.

Souvlaki ~ Inferno

A cool little funky house tune from Mark Summers of Scorccio Records in the UK. It's basically a cool house beat with a Southern United States style preacher filling out the melody and giving the entire song that "oomph".

Look for the artist named:

Lacrimosa
Dead Can Dance
Faith and the Muse
Enigma
Enya
Cocteau Twins
Black tape for a Blue girl
Cradle of Filth (Satanic Mantra)(chanting verse)
or other Cradle of Filth songs...

(im a gothic music fan, for the chants, those are very hard to find, I listed the artist that has it in them, but good luck finding that individual song.)

Bjork might have some, I wouldnt be surprised.

Delerium. Their album Karma is hard to describe properly, but it kinda fits your description. And regardless, its a damn good album.

Hehe. I have to have my fiance look them up for me on limewire. (: Then I'll know what we can find. Actually, I thought it was weird that I couldn't find Camera Obscura anywhere... Is it a single or something?
