Don't ask questions about a series like eva if you don't want spoilers. Watch the thing. if you dont understand things, read up on them. there are thousands of websites, lots of directors interviews, and basically, now this tread is pointless. I do hope you enjoy the series though.

Uhh... did anyone else notice that the article says the Asuka DIED?! If I recall, she somehow was removed from the Evangelion corpse somewhere during a dementia scene, most likely. I guess this artile isn't very authentic.

Spoilers:

The death of Asuka in the Eva by the completed Eva series was implied. If she didn't die there, she would have blown into a pile of LCL goo when all the AT fields collapsed in Third Impact.

Shinji strangles a dream Asuka in his mind when his ego is being destroyed at the start of Third Impact. His mind was pretty much shredded by then. But the REAL Asuka was down in the destroyed EVA Unit 2 not far from the NERV control room.

Shinji tries to strangle Asuka on the beach because he cannot determine reality from what is in his mind at the end of the film. He stops when Asuka reaches out and touches his face. He breaks down crying then.

Asuka died only once (the completed Eva series attack or the Third Impact), but so did everyone except Shinji a few moments later. This is a bit moot since anyone who can imagine themselves separate and wants to can return from the Egg of Lillith. Asuka happened to be the very first person to return.

I had never seen the article pages before (surprising since I love Evangelion) and liked them a whole bunch. Thanks for posting them.

Any way, they wouldn't have printed the thing if it wasn't authentic. Alot of eva IS open to interpretation, and if you dont particulary agree with one person's interpretation, it doesn't mean they are wrong and you are right.

Thats one of the things i HATE about eva discussion, and hoped to avoid by just posting the article in the first place: everyone starts to think they are an eva interpreter...most of what people get are from reading other's interpretations anyway, and like i said, alot of it IS argueable and open ended...so don't assume things are black and white, and don't but in to dismiss other's thoughts on Eva.

But the people who wrote this were under the impression that Asuka died. That's false information... uh, kinda since it's a ficitonal TV show

. And Gendo's hands are normal as far as I've seen. Remember, when be bruned his hands? Those hands looked pretty normal to me.

Did you just read the above freaking posts?? She DIED! What part of those scenes are you not comprehending?

How does the fact that its a fictional tv show effect that? Shes a fictional character, and its her fate in the show.

As far as gendo's hands go, why else did he jam his hand into Rei's body? To JOIN it with ADAM.

Stop creating more pointless arguements. Watch the show again, cause you seem to be forgetting key scenes.

At the time of the "burned hands" incident, Gendo hadn't grafted Adam into them. That occurs when Kaji returns from the debut of Asuka.
