Nadia is often considered by many to have been Gainax's best work ever. At the time it certainly was hot title. I defintely need to check it out.

I also personally think Disney copied Nadia when they made Atlantis.

The Eva foreshadowing is pervasive. I near fell over when Gargoyle presented a 50 foot tall anthromorphic giant and called it "Adam".... I lept up and said "Nooooooo!!!! That's Lilith!!".

There was a controversy back in 2001 when MANY people noticed more than a few passing resemblences between Disney's Atlantis movie and Nadia. I had seen both and quickly realized the connection the first time I watched Nadia. It goes beyond the obvious comparisons between the characters. The situations, world, events, items, places, time are too close to be just a coinceidence. An item by item list can be found here.

Also (and this is a gem if you find it), Nadia was one of the first series to do a Omake or miny drama. Every 4 episodes, you would see a small 5 minute presentation that would either explain things, do a tongue-in-cheek comedy routine, or expand the story outside of the available framework. The Omake was never licensed in this country but was included in the Japanese laserdiscs. A description of the Omake is also available at http://www.thesecretofbluewater.com :D
