I authored a DVD of swallow for the person I made it for, complete with motion title screen, fancy menus and everything. But I havn't made one with all my amvs on it for distro yet. Maybe I will once I make enough to fill it.

It was also good practice for Animasia since I now know exactly what I need to do to make my idea for that, and found out all the little tricky things like varying aspect ratios and such.

I'd definitely be down with a DVD of that kind of stuff.

All this DVD stuff makes me think, though... It might be a good idea for me to start keeping HuffYUV's of my videos once they are done. Then I can just encode off those for DVD...

And thanks to all for the info in this thread. Very informative. My Room mate has a DVD burner, so I might author one myself sometime. I'll have to look into the process of making menus, but otherwise, this is SUCH a cool idea.

And of course, with DDR and NES/RVG, those DVDs are cool.. I hope to get copies of them next time I go to a con where they're being sold, if they're being sold. (I know last ACen, they had DDR DVDs being sold, and I was tempted, but didn't have enough cash on me.. btu this year at ACen, I shoudl have plenty of dough to toss around! :) )

I'm always really surprised at the number of people who don't archive their projects, or who don't at least keep a master copy on-hand. You never know when it might be useful!

I didn't have a CD burner until recently, and even then, it seemed like such a hassle to span a RAR...

Guess I shoudl have just done it :(

If you ever see the NES and RVG dvds being sold, make sure you punch the guy in the face and run off with them.

I think that would break some copyright laws. Something about making a profit off of someone elses property just seems wrong to me.

It mite not be the best idea for an amv maker to invoke copyright laws. I can only see that gigantically backfiring...
