Allright guys, I've seen all of DBZ and read all of the Naruo manga ths far (OMG THEYZ OLDA!!!! )
Basically, the manga now has absolutely NO DIRECTION! It is turning into completely random fights between people with lots of explosions and stupid boring fghts that last much longer than they should (anyone who reads the manga should agree with me... WTF!?!?!?!?)
The problem with DBZ was that they showed it for way too long, and this seems to be where Naruto is going. All the main characters now seem invincible and unbeatable. I want some characters to die! MAKE THE ANIME EXCITING! The show's animation has turned into complete crap compared to the fights that happened a while ago. Remember such fights as Haku x Naruto or Lee x Gaara? (my personal favorites)
Overall Naruto IS DBZ, and I dare anyone to think of 3 reasons why it isn't.
P.S. Read the manga, it's 1 million times better than the show.

sorry for double-posting.
but i don't see a way i can edit my post.
ahem* but what i meant to say is, i like
dragonball z. yes, i admit it. I LIKE DRAGONBALL Z..
yes, i make fun of it. yes, i hate the GT and Dragonball saga.
but nonetheless, it's still a fun show to watch.
AND WHO THE HECK CARES IF THE FIGHTS ARE MEANINGLESS
AND IT'S ALWAYS, "I have to save the earth...universe..and stuff"
ISN'T IT THE "VIOLENCE" WE ALL CARE ABOUT?
The way people smash into the floor, the breaking of teeth,
the big shiny lights, a hot looking android 17 and Trunks...um..
without the long hair..
ISN'T THIS WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO CARE ABOUT??
If you think REAL carefully, most of the shows you see today
resemble DBZ in one way or another.
yeeesss....prepare to experience your nightmare over
and over again. pumping muscles, people who can fly in super
speed, shooting beams out of their hands, endless transporting, and
people being shot into rocks.
Even if DBZ is over, you'll still remember it 'cause people keep
copying it.
***>.< And one last thing, I agree with what you said before about
Naruto. It was funny at first, but now it's just stupid.
MANY seasons have passed, as much as seeing Naruto
being immature is fun to watch, but in battles...
AFTER ALL THIS FIGHTING, you'd think he'd get smarter.
I mean, everyone knows that the rushing in for a punch,
and the constant waste of chakra doesn't work...
chakra looks like Goku's chi when he's powering up...
>.> ooooh....scary.. <.<

What manga are you reading? The naruto manga is now getting to where the rest of the story has been going. Especially the lastest chapter released. The current arc that takes place 2 1/2 years later is some of the most exciting stuff to date. Each chapter has a bigger surprise,MomochiZabuza wrote:Allright guys, I've seen all of DBZ and read all of the Naruo manga ths far (OMG THEYZ OLDA!!!! )

Oh and 3 reasons:Spoiler wrote:I mean damn, I never saw Gaara becoming KazeKage and fighting a member of Akatsuki coming
1. Past the freeza saga there weren't any fights that had a deep reason to them. There was no depth to the fights beyond 'Oh hey you there your bad lets fight!" In Naruto there are political situations and personal agendas that are the causes for the fights.
2. In DBZ in order to power up, you must yell for 10 eps atleast in order to get all your power going. Not so in Naruto. The power system in Naruto is better thought out and goes beyond simple energy blasts.
3. Character depth. Each character in Naruto has a life story and dream that dictates his or her life. The challenges they face aren't a strong alien opponent but the monsters within themselves (I don't mean this literally like Naruto or Gaara's inner demons Kyuubi and Shukaku). Each character is driven by what's going on around them. They strive for their goals.
As far as your unbeatable theory goes, read chapter 249 and you'll see that not everyone's unbeatable

Allright my thoughts are there, if you still disagree PM me because I'm sure people here would not care for this random argumentSpoiler wrote:Gaara fighting an Akatsuki member is COMPLETELY random, remember it is Naruto and the Kyuubi that Akatsuki is after. Them picking to go after Gaara does not relate to the original plot at all. Also, so what if the person has Gaara...you know that he's going to get out of it somehow. If he doesn't then I will be very surprised, whats to stop him from using his sand to escape? (I could be missing something, because I use Narutofan.com and a subbed version hasn't been released yet) Also, the new Akatsuki chick's moves are all the same... creating animals and making them explode EXPLOSIONS! The thing that DBZ had the most of.

If your basing your point of view on explosions alone then Cowboy Bebop is just like DBZ. Oh and so is Love Hina. OH can't forget about Negima (the biggest DBZ rip-off ever )MomochiZabuza wrote:I read chapter 249 before posting...

Not only do many people see the obvious face of Naruto is dragonball.
But for fucks sake, the creator of Naruto said he draws heavy inspiration from it over and over again.
There's really no arguement to it, Naruto is HEAVILY inspired by Dragonball (and for all you who've just seen Z, watch the original series before you start try to "burn" people).
Not just that, but I feel like we're all a bunch of 5 yearolds in kindergarden going "hey the power rangers beat barney ANYDAY".
The shows are for kids, in japan or not. Stop argueing it to make yourself feel better.

Well, the creator of Naruto was infact greatly inspired by Dragonball as a kid. However, as far as the actual show being similar, i'd have to disagree. Naruto's storyline is really quite remarkable. In DBZ at many times it felt like it wasnt planned out and it was just thinking up ideas as you go. However, as you get into the later episodes of Naruto you get see an incredible story that has been cleverly hidden from early episodes. I use "cleverly hidden" simply because it seems like this was planned all along, and not just a fluke.
On a side note, i would agree that there is a pretty sharp contrast between the Zabuza arc and the rest of the show. Then again, i think there was suppoused to be. The purpouse of the Zabuza arc seemed to be the 3 main characters introduction into the life of a ninja and how each of them would react when they were actually faced with death. After that, i feel that the story actually picked up.
Also, for those who enjoyed the feel and look of the Zabuza arc, then look forward too.....
*Spoilers*
*Spoiler Alert*
*I don't remember how to do the tags but its kind of a spoiler!*
The Animated version of Kakashi Gaiden.

-Thanks for reminding me how to use the spoiler block
Spoiler wrote:This area of the arc is just starting, there for making a prediciton such as the fight being random is pretty far out there. We don't KNOW why they are attacking yet, but when in Naruto has something like that not been explained in future episodes? Heck, it could have been something as simple as testing the strength of the new kazekage.
As for explosions, in what anime isnt there explosions? Especially an action one. Thats hardly a tie to Naruto

I do infact remember reading quite a bit about him being heavily inspired when he was growing up by the creator of dragonball. But never did i see this when referencing to writing. I know that as a kid he tried to exactly imitate Dragonball characters and a couple other shows. However an art style (Which I also believe at this point to be fairly far from DBZ) is hardly the story itself.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:Umm, can we just all please remember.MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote:If your basing your point of view on explosions alone then Cowboy Bebop is just like DBZ. I hope I don't sound like im trying to rip on DBZ, because im not. I'm simply saying i don't see the heavy similarity. I'm also not trying to justify Naruto as being a show that wasnt intended for kids. Then again at the same time there are many parts in the manga, and a few that were ven dumbed down for the anime, that were pretty questionable as far as the gore factor goes...
Spoiler wrote: For example, In the manga version of the Zabuza arc, Kakashi's hand actually goes straight through Haku's chest. Even in the anime there was quite a bit of blood flying around. Another one that was more recent would be when Kimimaro grabs his own bone from his shoulder and rips it out to use as a sword. The anime version of this wasn't really disturbing at all, but the manga rendition was pretty...well gross. This on top of the language (especially Tayuya's cursing), to me at least, steers possibly the show and deffinitly the manga to a higher age range. But then again, maybe our ideas on what a kid is defined as are different.
