Can't get sound to work & dvd question
1) ok, i can rip the files into VOB format very easily (DVD Decrypter). i did it for a hellsing dvd and like i read i split it into serverl files named VTS-04-1 through VTS-04-6. it also made a VTS-04-0.IFO file. anyways, i want to get it to wear i can play it on my computer using Windows media player so i'm using the DVD2AVI program and everytime i try it, it makes the video perfect but there is no sound. i followed all the steps i read in a guide and it doesn't work. i go to open, and then i click on the first VTS-04 file (VOB) and the other 5 come with it......anyone have any idea why it doesn't work? do i need to do that and then take the file (it makes a seperate sound file for it) and use some program to put them together?
2) also, as a sub question. if i'm wanting to make a DVD, like burn the hellsing show (theoretically) . since its copy protected andi can't straight burn it should i burn the vob files to the dvd (not even sure if that will work) or convert it then burn it. i'm asking for several reasons. one, i would love to be able to get the dvds of hellsing (theroetically) 2, i already have some shows that are fansubs that i would want on there (again, theroetically) and finally, i want to put any video i make onto a dvd (really). i i did this before and left it in the AVI or whatever it is that will let me play in Windows media player (several different file types) and it says i can fit like 4.4 gigs onto a dvd....each file i was burning onto it was like 160,000 kbs....so, i thought i could get like at least 10 or more onto it (doing the math i should be ale to fit 26.2) ....i could fit like 3. so, am i burning it wrong or is it just different when burning a dvd?
thanks alot for any answers on either question

unless i misread that wrong, that tells you how to get audio out, i can do that. what i need to know is how to use DVD2AVI to turn VOB into avi and also compress it if nesecary and still have sound. i can do all of the above but when i do it and hit play, there is no sound. thanks for trying to help anyways.

Don't use DVD2AVI to convert to AVI files, as ironic as that sounds.Sinar89 wrote:unless i misread that wrong, that tells you how to get audio out, i can do that. what i need to know is how to use DVD2AVI to turn VOB into avi and also compress it if nesecary and still have sound. i can do all of the above but when i do it and hit play, there is no sound. thanks for trying to help anyways.
Follow through the guide downwithpants linked you to, if you want to extract audio.
Dealing with VOBs in DVD2AVI/DGIndex:

[I recommend uninstalling AMVapp if you have the old one, and installing the new AMVapp which has DGIndex, which is easier and better to use then DVD2AVI. Don't however, uninstall AMVapp, if you are in a middle of a video editing project that uses it.]
