Silent Hill 3 (PS2) 3ds files help

Post by akiross22 » Tue Mar 01, 2005 4:14 am

my ususal technique for ripping cut sequences will not work on Silent Hill 3. The footage will only come out as a 3ds file 889MB in size but i cannot open or convert this. There is a prog called discreet 3ds Max that should open this file but I do not own it.

Does anyone know another app that supports 3ds or a way i can convert it.

thanks

You could just play the scenes back and capture it via analogue...

Yeah. Get a capture card that can take RCA input, plug in your PS2, and record it.

Just because the files are .3ds doesn't mean they'll open in 3ds Max, that may just be the arbitrary extension that they use to indicate cutscenes.

So, you'll have to do it the hard way if you really want to do it.

look at sticky.
all i did was scanned it with nova soft's extractor.
ad if i remember correctly its archive in a folder.
you don't have to do the ISO step.

why capture when you can rip. its way cooler 8-)

just scan for mpeg. uncheck everything else.
as for the 3ds files i've never tried to seperate them. maybe in the future
