I think it's been brought up before, but for those of you who hate Hamtaro, Ebichu is probably your best alternative. It's some of the most fucked up shit I've ever seen.

I'm going to say that Divergence Eve is another one. i saw the first episode and it looks like an action/sci-fi that will be destroyed because of fansservice. god i hate blunt fansservice in anime.

6.Neon Genesis evengelion---How to ruin a good plot with a crappy ending.

1- disagree, that anime is pretty important to me
2- disagree, i hate it, but it is pretty much a huge block of the otaku culture and did bring many poor poor saps into the anime world
3- agree. something about panties
4- disagree. God Bless American and everything, but this one is a good war story, those kids didn't bomb shit, and it proves that Miyazaki isn't the only person in Ghibli
5- apathetic. haven't heard of it, don't care
6- disagree. same reason a 1, and the anime itself did kinda revolutionize the industry. take a look at the death notes in End of Eva
7- can't say, it really depends on your view of cosplay.
8- don't know, don't care.

this is in my opinion, but concerning the title of this thread, i thought it was about what anime is more or less insignificant and pointless in the anime world. if it's made some type of important landmark in anime, or something like that, then i'd say that it's pretty important to anime. not just "hey i don't like this one, therefore do away with it"

but then again, technically the world can do without anime itself. all of it.

but then again again, i have my head up my ass about 21 hours a day.

The only reason people revere the crap above is it is what artsy fartsy people claim to be good stuff. The fact that it's dull stupid utterly lacking in wackability etc is mind blowing. There were plenty of better animes produced before eva came out I don't see how it changed anime in anyway except people tried to clone it. Oh well I say the best anime ever is the slayers dub so what do I know.

wackability? i'm not insulting here, but what the hell is wackability?
i've never heard an artsy person ever talk about Naruto or DBZ, but i don't listen to artsy ppl in the first place.
it's dull to you, stupid to you, respect other people's opinion. i'm respecting yours, just throwing in my input as well.
people tried to clone it because they liked it, and because it did create a change. would you intentionally try to emulate a piece of crap?
