You are correct, sometimes there are girls in action.

Do you really need a list of anime that are not action orientated or have girls in it? That is really quite expansive. Go look at the reviews or encyclopedias on these sites.

There needs to be more meat in your question or the mods are likely to lock it for being pointless.

You will find sub genre listings for each of the titles on the animenewsnetwork. The many subgenres will help him fine tune his search.
