Ok, I have to say that the trailer looks pretty badass, but I'm hearing from a bunch of people that the series pretty much blows (not to mention the mediocre ratings I noticed at ANN). So in hope of me to invest into something that's good, is this series worth it?

To find out if you will like this series or not, do this experiment. Go smash your head into the wall for 20 minutes straight. If you enjoy that experience, you may like Avenger, because watching it feels much the same. Seriously, this show blows. I strongly recommend NOT spending money on it. If someone you know gets it you can borrow it to see if you like it... but I doubt you will. Don't expect anything in the way of character development, coherent plot, or satisfying ending. Also don't expect spectacular action scenes (not that there are many to begin with).

In short, do yourself a favor and do not buy it.
