I think that the animation in all of these shows/movies is excilent, the animation for the action scenes in Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist makes me go "AWESOME!" As for Vampire Hunter D and Spriggan I really liked the styles of animation for both of those, and thought they were done so well.

Horray for good animation! :D
As pointed out to me earlier, this thread is for the art, not the animation.
The art is still good in all of those :)
methinks I should read more carefully in the future

I'm amazed at the art in animes such as Princess Mononoke, especially the background art, it's just simply amazing! Even though the art is astonishing, so is the animation. I would highly recommend checking it out if you haven't.

Also I love the character designs in GITS 2: Innocence. And it has some beautiful art in the background. Another one I'd highly recommend. It's a pretty long movie, but it felt short since it was so freekin' good! ;)

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, manga or anime, both are very pretty.

ABe's style is nice.

Narutaru/Shadow Star has nice character designs and thin lines in the manga... didn't make the transition to anime so well.

Some of the art in Monster is amazingly... ordinary. Very good at making things look realistic; I forget I'm watching an anime half the time.

There are so many wonderfull styles of anime art that it is hard to chose one over another. Studio Ghibli, Abe's work, the beautiful art in Millenium Actress, but the one that impresses me the most is the art in Last Exile. It is so rich and detailed, it must have taken an amazing amount of work to complete.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Studio Ghibli pretty much wraps up my favorites. The Kenshin OAVs looked perty too.

I love the studio Ghibli works!

All the ones people have said here have really incredible art, don't think anyone has mentioned Revolutionary Girl Utena yet though? I love the style of it, and the movie is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen

.....Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust ...rich in Beauty, deep in darkness, thick with symbolism. Every frame is a masterpiece.
