I'm now amazed I'd forgotten this.

First time watching El Hazard: The Magnificent World. The ending with Ifurita going through Makoto's memories was choking me up in a big way.

...what?

I don't think I've ever cried over an anime. When I was young boys weren't supposed to cry, times have changed but old habbits hang on.

Some other titles that cause one to get emotional. Millenium Actress, Jin Roh, Haibane Renmei.

Maybe I'm a lot like the old song by Jackson Brown.

Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
Through the slow parade of tears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can

Doctor my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long?

As I've wandered through this world
As each moment has unfurled
I've been waiting to awaken from this dream
People go just where they will
I never notice them until I've got this feeling
That it's later than it seems

Doctor my eyes
Tell me what is real
I hear their cries
Just saying "It's too late for me"

GUITAR SOLO

Doctor my eyes
Cannot be disguised
Is this the prize for having learned how not to cry?
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

The second to last episode of the first season of Sailor Moon when
Sailor Moon is sitting alone crying and telling herself it's all a dream and she'll just wake up again, and it will be a normal day, and she's all alone, but then the spirits of her dead friends come and tell her to run, and that they'll always be with her
really gets me.

The end of Cowboy Bebop was the first time I cried in years when I first saw it.

The last episode of Evangelion made me shed a few tears, but in a happy sort of way, because I was really touched by the message it gave.

But I don't think any single movie/anime has ever made me cry more than Voices of a Distant Star. No matter how many times I watch it, it still tears me up.
