Normally it would be called a plot hole, since we are not watching a documentary and all of it was written down by a man as flawed as the next human. But let's say that it was intentional....

If all of the entire series is Shinji going over things in his mind, it does not necessarily have to be accurate. All memories are flawed to some extent. I know that it does not satisfy those who believe every frame had a purpose and intent, but there. :P

In that case, Shinji might not even be really "alive." And all of that ideas were really some of the "alternative worlds" working all over again.

k heres another question that I have brought up is about Kaowru. Was he and Rei were considered to be Adam and Eve themselves? Are they the angels of "hope?" Or is it something else?
I personally thought that Kaowru was a mix of Adam and Jesus...
Not too sure bout Rei though...
I'm not crazy, the voices told me so...

Rei is just a human with a small amount of Angel biology mixed in, possibly from her fusion with Armisael. Kaworu is most likely 100% pure Angel, because he counts as a numbered Angel and Rei does not. They are not "Adam and Eve," although Rei DID merge with Lillith and Kaworu was told that he has Adam's soul (whether SEELE was lying to him about that will never be known). Rei is also suspected of having Lillith's soul, but the evidence for this is sketchy at best.

Asuka's bandages were a projection of her mind, just like Shinji's plugsuit in Episode 20. I mean, would you really want to come back naked right next to the person you hate most in the world?

The Id/Ego/Superego thing is very interesting. I might have thought of it myself if not for the fact that my high school English teacher completely butchered their definitions when we were reading Lord of the Flies. I still don't see Rei as mediating the barrier between fantasy and reality, though; if anything, she's the one who tore it down.
remember how totally pwned Eva 02 was by the MP Evas? Remember how it was dismembered and broken when Shinji first saw it? How could Asuka survive this?
I would imagine that ghost-Rei would have magically appeared to her at the moment of death and whisked her soul away for safekeeping, like she did with Kaji, Misato, Ritsuko, etc.
the absolute answer, held within the Eva Carddass Masters Trading Card Game
Trading cards don't count for shit. Even the Red Cross book had to be corrected for its most obvious fuck-ups. Shinji choked Asuka because he hated her and was sick of her bullshit and was royally pissed at the idea of having to spend the rest of his life with her and wanted her to fucking die already. Why search for any other explanation?

I remember this is what the Nitpickers Guide for Next Generation Trekkers used to say for certain episodes that occur in the mind, like the Next Gen episode Eye of the Beholder, to which Guide author Phil Farrand writes:
After all, most of this episode occurs in Troi's mind. We can attribute any errors to the good counselor's neurons. But, for the sake of completeness, let's see what problems we can discover!

btw, I found this on the Webdomain of Tiffany Grant that has Tiffany Grant's response to the end of End of Eva:
6: I recently finished 'End of Evangelion.' The ending didn't make any sense. What did Asuka mean when she said "Disgusting." It's all very confusing to me. Could you please fill me in a little if you don't mind?

I'll try... The most widely circulated translation of the last line of EoE is "I feel sick", but Amanda Winn Lee (voice of Rei Ayanami, who also directed EoE) said she asked several translators, and she felt "disgusting" was the most accurate adaptation. You could say she is disgusted with/sick of the situation or wih Shinji himself. My favorite explanation though, is this one: My husband, Matt Greenfield, directed the TV series and is very familiar with the whole Eva franchise. Matt has said that although (Eva creator) Hideaki Anno seems to change his mind frequently about what various things mean in Eva, Anno once said that Asuka's comment about feeling "sick" was a reference to morning sickness. Now THAT gives ya something to think about, doesn't it! Of course, Anno is quite passionate about the idea that every person should decide for him or herself what Eva means to them.

Why would Asuka have morning sickness? Rei is the one who was riding Shinji...

*cough*...

Anyways, as i said in the above, you think it might have been possible that the whole event was just part of Shinji's imagination?
