Seriously too big, you make the forum cry.

As far as Hellsing goes:
Yeah, I like it all right. Every time I try to make an amv with it I end up using only action, but that's because it "looks cool".
To answer a previous question on this thread:
I think the general opinion about a second season is that there will be none. Every once in a while someone will come around and yell about this super secret project called Hellsing: Psalm of Darkness without realizing that the above name is the full name of the anime. If you watch the trailer/music video they have on one of the DVDs it mentions this name at the end, and gets people syched. The seemingly agreed upon decision is that Hellsing made too few dolla dollas to have a second season. Some have said that the reason the ending seems so rushed is also because of this, but I have no evidence to back this up.
Another point:
The ending seems to get a lot of people upset because they want to know if Integra does it. This is really just a "whatever mood your in" ending that happens in tons of anime: Elfen Lied, Evangelion, and Trigun to name a few. The Japanese seem to like open endings, and you can come up with your own conclusions. I hate them.

re: the manga

i think there's only about 5 vols out in the west but in Japan i think there's tonnes more (like berserk), i think theres at least ten probably more, we just need to wait for Dark Horse to translate them.

re: the anime

billy_wires is right, there always people mouthing off about how theres going to be a second series and how much it will rock etc... but the fact of the matter is that it wasn't popular in Japan and didn't make anywhere near enough money to warrant a second series (also rather similar to berserk), as much as i'd like a second series, i wouldn't hold my breath if i were you.

*points to self* Another Hellsing lover here! Pretty darn cool stuff in Hellsing and, by far, Seras is my favorite character. Especially as an overall Anime Girl character. Very very awesome! ^.^

Alucard: "Beautiful night, isn't it Police Girl? It's especially beautiful if you're a bloodsucker."

*gunshot*

Seras: "You're not human!" *runs away*

Hehe. How many times did she say that line throughout the series. Aww it doesn't matter, she's still cool as ever. Woot! ^.^

The manga in Japan is up to 7 vols., and the latest chapter is 60. (surpassing what was printed in vol. 7. So don't worry, at the very least they'll be 8 vols.)

The manga is indeed better. Multitudes better..

Kouta Hirano is a genious. And on further note of the author himself, Hellsing is not his first series, but it is his most well known.
Before Hellsing, Hirano mostly did doujins and other small bits of stuff.

There was even a Hellsing prototype manga, but it was hentai.

I really like Hellsing, and although I prefer the manga I have to say the anime rocked. Cool music, and the mood of the visuals are terific. Like that image of Alucard against the red sky in the first episode. Made me shudder.

BUT, I have to say, that although I really liked the anime I hope there won't be a second season, because sometimes the shorter ones are better. Because that way the authors won't use the same ideas twice, and spin a story based on nothing because they don't have any better ideas, and get thinner and thinner plot lines and....... well, you know what I mean.
Like Millenium being better than X-files. It's the same creators, but M was only three seasons.

I think his necropost was somewhat valid as he actually said something meaningful rather than just "OMG I luv hellsing it kicks ass!!!!!!11". Better than creating a new Hellsing thread when there's already one.
