the series didn't quite end on episode 13 there were still questions to answer so i assume there will be more episodes

Unfortunately, this is rather common with anime (Kare Kano, Spiral, Angel Sanctuary, and Fruits Basket come to mind).
In cases like this, one usually has to look to the manga to get the rest of the story.

But in the case of Hellsing, after about halfway through, the anime diverged from the manga near completely.
(And I'm conflicted about this. On the one hand, the plot writing for the second half of the anime has a much more refined feel to it, for the most part, than that of the remainder of the manga. On the other hand, the anime turned the meeting at the art museum into just an excuse for the second Anderson vs. Alucard fight, whereas in the manga it was quite important to the plot... and the Millennium group is just so much more FUN than Incognito and company.)
So as far as the anime's version of events goes, that's as much of a conclusion as you're going to get.

*Points at Berserk* Well it could be as bad as that. Well I think they did it then to promote the manga. No better way to make people read the manga than to leave them wanting more in the anime.
