No..it's not unfair in the least bit. It's not just Naruto, or DBZ. It's also Trigun, Bebop and any other moderatly popular anime. I honestly look for FMA to be next.RutKiskasca wrote: Now, is this unfair? It's not that I dislike the series. It's not my cup of tea, but I don't dislike it. It obviously has some very impressive scenes that lend themselves to some really cool editing....but those scenes are always used, and they don't surprise me anymore, no matter how slick they look in the video.

That hits the nail on the head. While there's nothing whatsoever wrong in using an anime that's been well used before..try out a new concept with it instead of something along the lines of mindlessrandomaction or what have you. And Rut's right also on not expecting others to feel the same way you do about your video. Just because you think it rocks doesn't mean I'm going to. And if I don't feel that way..I'm not going to op the video that way either.RutKiskasca wrote: I place the responsibility on YOU, the editor, to produce an original, re-viewable video. It is not my responsibility to fluff your ego by lying to you if I have seen a thousand other people do what you just did, and tell you that it was more original than KFC. Naruto in a music video is about as fresh as Thanksgiving Turkey on Christmas, and no amount of After Effects is going to make it stand out from the rest.
If you make a video using source that has been done to death, and then you solicit opinions, you should expect low originality scores and not be mad about it. You have a right to say why you think it is original, but not to expect someone else to find it original.
