It seems no one else sees this animation-quality difference that I've noticed, so...... next subject!
I've watched both Excel Saga DVDs in both languages many times. (that's the first 9 eps) Wow! I'm actually enjoying the Dub more than the Sub! It sounds funnier! (i mean that as in comedy-wise) Which is all thanks to Jessica Calvello's super-cool-insanely-good-perfect-excellent Excel dub work! (I really like her voice and acting!) The scripted is re-written funnier too! Alot more jokes we're suddenly added out of nowhere! (watch it in sub and memorize it, then when you watch it in dub, you'll get a good amount of unexpected jokes that will make you laugh even if you seen the sub thousands of times.) There are still some parts that sound better in Japanese, but most of it (like 90%) sounds better in english! Iwata's dubber is kinda bad though. Extra congrats to Sumiyoshi's voice acter!
Well, Excel Saga fans, what do you think? (and all anime fans, of course! )

what a logical, unbiased opinion.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Please cat, anymore of you and people will start thinking you have an obsession with me. As a matter of fact, some people will probably start questioning your sexual orientation. You straight boy?If you're hinting to ask me out, sorry, but H3LL dont play that way...So go hunt for another pair of nuts to suck on. These aren't available.

Who the hell are you talking to, H3LLPoWeR? Go post your filthy message on your own post!
Anyways!
Let me write something else that I wrote in someone else's post. It was in the "Do you sub or dub?" forum. It's just a continuation of my Excel Saga Dub/Sub comparision. Well, more another version... but still some good points.
-------------------------------------
I've always loved the Subs more because of the much more passionate voice acting, but then I saw Excel Saga. Amazing Dub!!! This may be one Dub that clearly and fairly wins over the sub. The Sub is really really really GREAT and COOL! But the Dub is SO WELL MADE AND AMAZINGLY GREAT! It's actually funnier in Dub, despite how hilarious it already is in Sub!
After watching both Excel Saga DVDs many times in both languages, I think I've come across some nice comparision info. (That includes the first 9 eps)
Not only does the voice acting have to be good, but the voices must actually fit thier chars. Hyatt from Excel Saga kinda has a little problem there, but a very little problem. Also, I think Illpallazo's english voice fits him better than his Japanese voice. The Japanese voice is a little bit too cold and military-like. The Puchuus sound funnier in English too.
There also seems to be a problem where a dubber only knows how to read the script outloud OK, but really doesn't actually voice act it out. (Iwata from Excel Saga does this alot) A good dubber is ok, but a great one who's not afraid or embarrassed to voice act with full-heart and who puts only the best into thier voice will take this to the extreme. (Excel's dubber, Jessica Calvello - BEST ANIME ENGLISH DUBBER EVER!!! SHE IS SO COOL!!! If not the best, then at least BEST ANIME FEMALE ENGLISH DUBBER. But then agian, Lina's dubber from ADV's The Slayers Motion Picture was pretty awesome too.)
Also, the script must be more than just a simple translation. Use something other than extra and repeated words to fill the blanks too. If you watch Excel Saga in subs first and memorize it kinda, when you watch it in dub, they'll be many pleasing rewritten lines and many many new lines added out of nowhere, and at no expence of the original script. There's actually many new jokes added. Many surprises. ADV really thought about this all the way through. No opportunity to improve was passed! AMAZING!!! BRAVO!!! *CLAP CLAP CLAP*!!! I can't wait to see what's next!!
---------------------------
Not all dubs suck. Nor are they condemned to such fate.
You just gotta be fair and open-minded to both versions. Maybe neither is better. One may be just more prefered. Could that be it? Nah.... I don't think it's that simple.
