I have officially completed Figure 17. Man, what a series. This is seriously one of the most well developed series I've seen in a long time. I'm especially impressed how the creators were able to balance normal school life and kicking aliens' ass (I'm more impressed how those two aspects never collided unlike so many other series where they have those aspects combined).
Seriously folks, get this series NOW. Media Blasters released the complete boxset of it for only $70!

It's currently on my list of anime to buy, along with a bajillion other anime I need to watch.
Saw Odin on AZN last week. Meh. Not that great, but not mediocre either. You're not going to find anything worthwhile in this that you haven't seen anywhere else. I understand that 30 minutes of the movie got cut from the U.S. release. I wonder, could those 30 minutes have included...character development? If so, it certainly needed more.

Probably too busy to be here right now.

It's the start of a new anime season so I've been noticing a lot of "Blah blah blah - 01" episodes showing up on the bit torrent sites. From what I've seen so far my thoughts are:
Izumo - Takeki Ken no Senki. After the first episode I will be following this one for a few more weeks at least. It's seems to have the potential to shape up to be pretty sweet.
Loveless. If only Soubi would stop kissing the main character . Well the story seems interesting enough. I'll keep watching it.
Mar. What in the living hell. The arm that the main character finds looks like a talking pocketwatch. The witch character is my favorite so far, I'll keep watching for her if nothing else since she's pretty awesome.
Speed Grapher. Pretty messed up. It's a Gonzo show though so I guess it's not too unexpected that it would be fairly twisted. Looks good, worth checking out.
Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle. Probably my favorite of the new shows so far, I like it a lot. Definitely a must download for anyone who downloads fansubs and likes CLAMP
Victorian Romance Emma. I don't particularly like the animation style, but the show definitely has me charmed nonetheless for some reason. It's on my recommended list for anyone who likes romance shows.
Anything else that's premiered so far recently I either haven't gotten a chance to see yet, or it sucked so I forgot about it, or it was a sports anime which I delete as soon as I know what they are since I hate sports anime.

It's also kind of interesting that the OP song is done by Duran Duran.Hell, her mother doesn't let her eat that much, and she discovered her mom with her nurse on her bed.....you know what I'm implying.

That was some pretty fucked up shit right there. I can't say I particularly like the animation in this show but it's starting off on such a twisted note that I can't help but be hooked. Hopefully it will keep the awesome juice flowing.angelx03 wrote:Speed Grapher - Episode 2
