Whee...well, since I finished watching Hikaru No Go today, I'll ask a question about it (this question, and especially the answer, may contain spoilers for the show):

By the end of the show, why does Hikaru still only have the lowest professional ranking, despite his high skill level?

(you don't have to give all the details...in fact, leaving some out would avoid a huge spoiler)

Hasn't quite been 24 hours yet, but nobody's answered, and the one guy I know for sure knows the answer refuses to post because he's too lazy to come up with a question

Here's an easier one from the same show:

During the pro examinations, the top 4 players are Hikaru, Waya, Isumi, and Ochi. Which one doesn't end up passing that year's exam?

As for the previous question, the answer is that Hikaru quit Go for a while and forfeited a bunch of matches, thus he has a lot of catching up to do before his win/loss ratio is good enough for a promotion.
