Synch issue

Post by Valgaav » Sat Apr 23, 2005 4:22 pm

I just finished an AMV. Everything matched up pefectly; all lip syncing, scene shifts, everything. When I saved, everything was off. All the video was too late with the music & was all f***ed up! Someone please tell me where Bill Gates lives so I may destroy everyone & every thing he loves. Yes, I am that furious.

Ok to start, this sounds more like a software problem than a hardware one. Second, we need to know what editing program you used, what is your video/audio source, what format you output it in, and stuff like that. Additionally, describing the problem with as much detail as you can will help. I would also like to note that even if you used Windows Movie Maker, it is not Bill Gates fault. If it is the program, then go talk to the programmers who made it. Finally, calm down :D.

Let me begin:

Footage: Ranma 1/2
Audio: MP3-Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get Retarded
Program: Windows Movie Maker
Source: Various clips from the web
Format: WMV when finished
Current emotional status: calm

Is this enough information?[/list]

Well, first of all, decode the MP3 to WAV.

Second, convert the clips you need to HuffYUV/Lagarith.

Aw man, and I was just about to ask if you exported it from WMM as a DV AVI (recommended), because A/V sync issues are known with WMM's DV AVI exports. If it's WMV, then I have no idea.

Addendum: DON'T USE DOWNLOADED FOOTAGE. Its a headache to process, plus looks like complete shit when you're done. I don't care who you are, dowloaded clips shouldn't even be a last resort for any video you want to be well-recieved, or even watchable.
