ps2 game doesn't have pss files (zone of the enders 2)

Post by Minion » Wed Apr 27, 2005 1:55 pm

i wanna get the movie files from zone of the ender: the second runner.
i looked through it, and theres not pss files that i can see (maybe i'm doing somehting wrong?). theres only dat, 45, img, ipk, and irx files.
which of these files do i need? what method do i use for getting them? getting them ready for virtual dub?

i did a scan for ZOE2, it uses mpeg2, but the way they put it, they're in fragments. i only manage to get the first 2 seconds of video, which is the opening scene (mars).

i think its in fragments, but not totally sure.
and didn't bother too much time to figure it out with hexeditor or anything and move on to others.

here's some games that i've checked thats extractable recently

gits SAC

PSS Plex comes with a tutorial on how to extract movies from Zone of Enders(PAL DVD!).

ZOE2 may have been formatted similarily with ZOE1, so you want want to try taking a look at that tutorial.

From peeks at the tutorial, you'll need to do some things quite differently and use special utilities to succesfully manage to rip off the FMVs.

[Refer to tutorial.]
Actually from the looks, ZOE.exe may be only available for ZOE1, but you may want to look at the link the tutorial gave you and search there for ZOE2 help.
[/Refer to tutorial.]

Other than that, you will problaby want to go via hardware capture, or the other method shirohamada suggested.

In a related vein, there aren't that many PSS files for the .hack games.

When I tried to look for some on INFECTION, all I could find was a PSS file for the beginning movie -- that was it. :?

I know this game has more than just the beginning for movies... unless it's using the real-time engine for every other movie after that.

Anyone have an idea how to extract more movies off of the .hack discs?

most of .hack//infection, at least, is rendered in real time by the game's engine, sorry.
