An unexpected issue has come up with track 6 - Asian Pride. The file format is mp4, and I have to look for a decoder for it so I can open it in virtualdub.

Needless to say, the format rules, even the looser ones from back when I first started the project, were NOT followed for this track, and I SHOULD just disqualify it.. but I'm looking for the right decoder. Anyone know anything?

i don't know if it would work for anything else, but i downloaded an mp4, and since it couldn't play in winamp, i changed it to mpg, and it was fine.

the site playback guide wrote:Download and install 3ivx and go to your Start Menu > 3ivx > 3ivx Config. Choose "3ivx D4 Media Splitter" on the left and then tick the box that says "Allow Unsupported Decoders". This will give you mp4 splitting (for mp4 playback with FFDShow).

I'd think installing 3ivx, and using DirectShowSource to import via Avisynth might work. It might even allow the file to be opened in vdub directly, not sure.

Small update: I am visiting my dad in Kansas. I am goign back home tomorrow, then going to ACen on Friday morning.

Hope to see you all there. I'll be (hopefully) passing out short AMVs for Short People on CD there. The distro version isn't done yet, but I am going to put together a CD with all the individual vids on it, and you'll be able to queue them up on a playlist and watch them all.

The final distro will have extras though, so the CD will be labeled "Short AMVs for Short People Preview Disc"

I'll include playlists for winamp, bsplayer, zoom player, and media player on it.

Final distro will be done after Acen, probably within a week or so after the con ends.

Well, I am almost done putting together the final project. it's taking more time than I thought.

Those of you out there who asked for time extensions need to get in touch with me and give me a status report, because I will continue editing and eventually finish with this, and release it without your segments.. i can always edit your anime source/music track from the org database entry, it's no problem.

Please try to finish your stuff! The project is turning out super awesome, a few extra tracks would make it gold.

Yeah, I got the whole thing now, along with the Wake Up track.

Still waiting on the Ketchup Soup track... not expecting it anytime before I finish though since I haven't heard back in a while from the editor.

Also, here's a list of the things I am doing before releasing the final project...

1. Transitions with video info between the tracks.
2. A video to Mr. Brett Please Put Down Your Gun using original drawings by me as well as some clever commentary. Should be rather amusing.
3. The credits track, which is going to include some humorous yet memorable footage from the programmers ending of Chrono Trigger. You know.. since you were in such a hurry to finish the game, we have made a special version of the end credits just for you.

4. I also have to come up with an intro, which I still have not decided on which idea to go with. It's going to either be me bashing my head against a wall, or some silly drawings. Not sure.
