Bandai/Namco merger...

Post by Pwolf » Tue May 03, 2005 4:04 am

semi anime related...

i was a little skeptical about this becuase i'm a fan of Namco (the ace comabt series mostly >.>). but after reading more, it looks like both companies will grow together. In my oppinion, bandai sucks at making games :| with namco's expertise in this area, i hope bandai can get some better quality games out (especialy anime related ones).

What!! That sucks!! Bandai sucks at making games!! They do make alot of anime games "give um credit for that", but the point is most of them suck. Bad move for Namco.

With Namco's help, though, BANDAI Games might actually become better.

Also, IMO, BANDAI's game lineup does not suck. I happen to have and appreciate playing both InuYasha games, all four .hack games, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

It seems that there are two extreme outcomes. It will sink faster than the Titanic or it will grow to be one of the stronger companies out there.

Being the optimist, I can see Bandai handling the lineup (with lots and lots of anime in it) combined with Namco as the gaming engine. If things go that way, we'll all be in for a treat. Namco makes such amazing games.

I guarentee that it'll grow. Both companies are doing well, and now Namco gets a whole ton of characters that it can use to make games with (we'll probably even see hidden anime characters in Namco's regular game lines, like tekken and sould calibur), and unlike Bandai, Namco's games are seldom bad/mediocre.

Now I bet some a' yu (bad accent) think that this is Namco's first team up of this level...

...well okay, yeah, it's a merger, but the possibilities of the merger are NOT just limited to Bandai anime and characters.

Because Namco has already done that with NINTENDO!!!

Nintendo has been doing what I call the VIDEO GAME CROSSOVER! They've been working with Namco, Capcom, and even Sega, to help get more Nintendo games out on the shelves and to help expand their product line!

For example, NEW IN JAPAN:

MARIO KART RACING IN THE ARCADES WITH PAC-MAN AS A SECRET KART RACER!

I do not lie! See the article for yourself:

http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3138515&did=1

And as for ties with Sega and Capcom? Nintendo has been working with Capcom on portable Zeldas with their latest project being the Minish Cap! For Sega, Nintendo worked with them to develop F-Zero GX and the arcade version, F-Zero AX! And of course, we all know about Link being in Soul Calibur 2! :) Oh duh! And I almost forgot that in NBA Street Vol. 3 on the GC, you can have Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach do a 3-on-3 game versus regular NBA All-Stars! (And Super Punch-Out!! for the SNES is available on EA Fight Night Round 2 for GC, but ONLY the GC version! Even has Little Mac as an unlockable fighter!)

What's really weird is that Nintendo is not just the only one doing crossovers! Konami and Capcom (two of the most beloved Japanese developers and you know it!) have recently done a crossover where MEGA MAN (or was it Zero?) appeared in Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django!

Is it me, or are things getting VEEEEEEERY interesting in the world of video game mascots?
