I can't believe that this was done 2½ years ago...Beo, you're an old man
If you're looking for anime itself that uses rap music, check out Samurai Champloo. As for rap in AMVs, it does seem to be different trying to edit to rap as opposed to rock or pop, let's say. Lyric sync is harder, because not many anime have scenes in them that can relate to rap lyrics, unless you're going for a cheap comedy. You don't want the video to degrade into just lip syncing, and beat syncing get kinda hard too, because most everything is just repeated. It takes a good rap song to make a good rap AMV, and by good rap song, I mean one that can be used (has story, variety, something), not saying that most rap sucks.

I would like to retract this statement, because there are some AMV creators who do understand hip-hop and its culture, and yet put out some garbage hip-hop AMVs. I've seen AMVs that use rap songs about guns with anime like Naruto and Bleach, which are about martial arts, (correct me if I'm wrong, because I have yet to see either anime). Where's the connection? I've seen others that focus on lip sync, and more that were out of sync with the song being used. These same creators, whose names I will not mention, think they're the shit when they're not. These folks are going to get a reality check when those opinions start coming in.megaman917 wrote:One more thing:

Translate: If your not a black guy from the ghetto you have no business making rap amv's. Oh and if your not fucking depresed alot you shouldnt be making rock amv's. Dont eat with a sliver knife and fork on fine china? forget about clasical/operatic amv's. Are you an oraku? I thought not. Stop making amv's alltogeather NOW.
but imagine how much fun it would be trying to lip sync something like Busta rhyme's break your neckTeclmmlEd wrote:I oviously dont wanna see lyp sinc to it -_-

Re: Rap Music with Anime
I didn't mean it like that. + I retracted that statement in my last post. I am a black guy from the ghetto, but that was not the point i was trying to make when I made that statement, and it doesn't matter what race anyone is or what genre of music they prefer.bum wrote:Translate: If your not a black guy from the ghetto you have no business making rap amv's. Ladies and gentlemen, I made a mistake when I posted this statement. Please disregard.megaman917 wrote:One more thing:

I don't consider myself to be a geek. I am an anime fan and an AMVer. AMVers exist everywhere.bum wrote:Lol, a geek from the ghetto. I should kiss you:o

Re: Rap Music with Anime
I think rap would be pretty good with anime but Linkin Park is the best possible option with DBZ or somethingOmega Goku wrote:What do you guys think if rap music where put in with anime would you love it or hate

*twitch* Linkin Park is NOT a good option.
Ever.
It's not even hip-hop or metal. If you want Raprock, use Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Genocide..or many other better bands.
It's a shitty combination of with the same theme in every damn song.
I'd really like to see someone use:
Blackalicious - Deception
Last Emperor - Secret Wars (though it wouldn't be an ANIME video exactly)
Deltron3030 - Turbulence
K0Os - Heaven Only Knows (remix)
The Pharcyde - Passing Me By
Rage AGainst the Machine - Darkness
