Full Metal Alchemist Commercial

Post by Evangelion Unit 01 » Wed May 04, 2005 11:31 pm

I just saw the comercial for the manga of this series, and I thought it was pretty cool that they even had comercials for anime considering it is not that well known in the us. The only commercials I usually see are for the usual kiddy shows like pokemon. Well maybe this is a sign of anime becoming more popular. What do you think? And what anime series commercial would you like to see on TV?

Not well known in the US?!?! Are you crazy!?!!? Everyone watches this shit!! Even people who dreadfully hate anime confess to turning to Cartoon Network every Saturday night to see it!! It's a great shounen that most say is better than Naruto, but Naruto is way more popular since it has that "whole bunch of cool fighters" and "must get stronger" type of setting......which is still good.

What I was trying to get at is that most anime commercials that are on US TV are usually aimed at little kids (Pokemon) or they are of animes that are nothing more than pure fighting, and really no story line (DBZ). I have not seen all of FMA, but have only heard good things, and seen a lot of AMVs which really make me want to see the series a lot. This anime looks as though it has a good story line to it, and you normally don't see animes with good story lines advertised on TV. One example is Neon Genesis Evangelion most people feel has a great story line and is popular to the point that they are rerealsing the dvds, and even the orginal dvds are still 70+ dollars. But there has never been one US TV advertisment I have seen. Same with a lot of other anime series.

I just thought that FMA proabably had a good story line and I liked the fact that there is a commercial on US TV for it. It seemed like a rare thing so I wanted others opinouns on it. That's all.

I didn't really have high expectations for Full Metal Alchemist when it first premiered on AS. I was more interested in Ghost in a Shell. I thought that the high episode count would mean that the anime would have a lot of meanless filler episodes.

But it's a really awesome anime. Definately worth a look. It was very wrong of me to assume FMA would mostly contain filler. Just about every episode has an impact on the plot in some way, shape, or form.

I hope you didn't think I was cursing you out or anything. That's just my normal attitude.

What kinda made me happy about the show recently was that I thought Adult Swim had us on episode 39 or something already. I told my friend to get the show since it was really good and he did 5 days ago and he said he's on episode 25 where.....don't....wanna....spoil...... a certain alchemist from last week died.

That means we are only half way done with the show. YAAAAAHH!! :)

Don't read the manga.full Metal Alchemist is one of the few very few animes where the series is so much better than the manga.Full Metal Alchemist manga sucks. The series has and does so much more I couldn't stand reading the fma manga.

THANK YOU!! I LOVE WHAT YOU SAID!!

I started reading Full Metal Alchemist the manga many years ago and threw it down soooo quick cause it was boring. It started out so horrible that I'm surprised anyone would read it.
