Otakon AMV deadline

Post by kisaragi » Sat May 07, 2005 5:02 pm

Hello everyone!

Antonio Here, Its may and the dead line for Otakon AMV is coming up!
i have received many submissions already and expect quite a few more
to show up with in the next month. There has been some rumbling
about extending the dead line to allow for some people to finish their
videos and it is under consideration. I think the best way right now
to decided if there is enough request for the extension to make
a considerate impact on the number of submissions to this years'
event. If you think the dead line should be extended please
Email me at Ajimenez@otakon.com (don't just reply to this post)
and if i get a large enough response i will add some time to the deadline.
Please keep in mind i wont be adding a month or anything like that,
the dead line was picked, with the advice of Matt Pyson,
to allow for all the time i would need to compile the pre screening
tapes for viewing, selection of a contest line up and getting a finalized
contest tape, this is going to take a long time given the normal
volume of submission to the Otakon AMV contest. For those
of you who have already submitted and those of you who soon will
thank you and good luck on the contest!

I don't know how many you've got right now, but an extension might help since it looks like only mail in entries are what you a taking, and it will take time for some of us to get it to you. I'll email you my response.

Come on guys ` help out.

I already sent mine in. The project I was working on would have taken me an extra week after the deadline to finish it and that would be cramming a ton of editing time. If I would have know there was going to be an extension I wouldn't have slowed down on my newest video. The announcement I think personally should have been made sooner, but running an amv contest you can only do so much. I know from experience as I held one last year and I am running a convention this year.

I'm going to rescind my request since I actually got lucky and finished last night. I was originally scared since Anime Central is this weekend and thus my deadline was tomorrow, but looks like I'll be fine.

Thanks for the offer though ;).

Super mask? Ha! You'd laugh if you saw what it was and how "easy" it would be for Mr. Dragon Bebop Z :P

...as for AX who knows? I may start something new after ACen *shrug*

...DBZ to Maaya Sakamoto
