Otakon AMV: Deadline update

See Vic all of that rushing and stress to get your video done and then they extend the deadline. Well at least you get to relax. I thought my video wasn't going to get done but now I can work on it for at least another week. Which will give me a comfortable amount of time to finish. That is at least I hope because now I'm coming up with more editing ideas. OMG when will the madness end.

THANK YOU! I didn't think I'd have any time thins weekend to work on it cause I just went to a Green Day concert last night and I've got a radio station fest on sunday. So I guess I don't have tim eto work on it thid weekend but maybe for today.

hey all ... just thought i would tell you about this announcement that Otakon just made !!!

Otakon will take place NEXT SUMMER AS WELL !!! so get to work on your videos now so we dont have the same damn problem next year !

deadlines are set for a reason and otakon happens every summer.

stupid.

Yet Otakon's actual time in the year is later and later, while the deadline happens sooner and sooner in the year.

Why does everyone keep on saying this?

Last year, the con was right at the beginning of August.
The deadline was May 8th.
Until we got an extension.

This year, the con's three weeks later.
The deadline was May 19th.
Until we got an extension.

Personally, I don't see the problem here.

The real problem isn't Otakon's fault. It's just bad timing.
Early/Middle May is college finals. Meaning everyone's cramming, and finishing projects, and writing papers.
Those not in college have jobs, and this time tends to be the time for performance reviews, aka: "We're watching you like a hawk so that we can find something you screwed up on and thus give you a bad review".
and also, it's getting warmer, so computers are crashing more. I just made that up, but I'm sure if you look hard enough, you'll find a statistic to support that ^.~

Hell yeah! Im a military videographer and this is the busiest time of the year for my shop. Accually we're busy year round except for late summer (ie august

) So trust me as a videographer: I know what deadlines are for and I was one of the first to ask for an extension. Certain things take alot of time and effort. I love this contest, but unfortunaty my job has to come first. So anyway, thanks again for the extention and sorry if it puts any additional stress on the people running it.
