I'll be there... as staff (though I will have some break time to do non-staffy things).
Speaking of which, any word as to whether or not there will be an AMV creators panel this year (I assume there will be)? I kinda would like to be on the panel itself, if the other panelists don't mind, though only to give pointers on making AMVs on Macs and only if there are no other Mac users already on the panel (they'd probably be better editors than I am anyway).
I just feel there should be some Mac expertise on the AMV panel because the Anime Boston panel had no one who could answer questions from the Mac users in the crowd.

Scott A. Melzer is usually on the Otakon AMV panel, and I know he uses a Mac.Dragonmaster Lou wrote:Speaking of which, any word as to whether or not there will be an AMV creators panel this year (I assume there will be)? Don't you generally have to be invited in order to be a panelist?

Last year I was on the pannel and I did pretty well for my knowledge. I'm hoping to be on the pannel again this year since I have knowledge of many different editing programs.Scintilla wrote:Scott A. Well, if someone who's been on the panel before will be the Mac guy, I'm fine with that and I'll bow out of the way.Scintilla wrote:Scott A. Also, you don't necessarily have to be invited to be on a panel (I happen to be on panels staff -- but just a grunt, so don't ask me to get you special panel space or anything). You can just send a request for a panel to the Otakon panels coordinator and she'll figure out whether or not to grant it (I don't know how she makes the decisions. As I said, I'm just a grunt).
Of course, I assume that you mean "invited by Otakon staff" by "invited," not "invited by the high priests of Otakon AMV editors."

I repeat: don't you have to be invited in order to be a panelist [on the Otakon AMV panel(s)]?genestarwind21122 wrote:Last year I was on the pannel and I did pretty well for my knowledge.
