Premiere Pro for $50?!?

Apparently some sort of 80% off sale.

Anyone have any opinions on the legitimacy of this. I actually read through the terms and agreements and there doesn't seem to be any catch other than this:
You will not be able to get a technical support and different rebates from the manufacturer. Updates are available for the most of our products (you may ask our support staff for the exceptions) that make them fully functional and operating.
2.3. You cannot register the software with the manufacturer and updates are available not for all the products;
2.4. You do not receive printed license documentation;
Now I am skeptical about buying something that doesn't allow you to register with the company, but I can not really afford the software otherwise and if it is legal then I think it's worth it.

The name of the site is "new<b>oem</b>.net"... so I wouldn't doubt its legitimacy, I just wouldn't expect them to include very much support and stuff with the software.

I think EULAs and similar things legally prevent OEM software from being sold separately.

Don't buy from them. From their terms page "No shipping necessary! All listed software is available for immediate download." Checking their faq says you download either an ISO or SFX. I know of no legit source of commercial software that is download (and ONLY download, from their faq: "Is it possible to get a CD instead of downloading the software? No, we do not send software on disks.")

Another tipoff from thier faq: "Most of the programs do not require any special software to be installed; however there are some items (they are mentioned below) that could be installed only from the CD. To burn the CD correctly..." Even if there was a legit download only place they certainly aren't going to be selling ISOs that you need to burn to a CD to use.

The fact their english skills are only marginably better than my own is also a big warning sign, honest to god professional retailerss have people who can write proper english.

The software on this site has the same legality as what you can grab on Kazaa. For all I know that's where this site got the software to begin with.

Actually, I do know of a few companies that sell their software over the net, so buying a download is not out of the question. Microsoft happens to be among them.

I was wrong, there are download only stores. For example, <a href="http://store.adobe.com/store/general/do ... ">Adobe</a> has one. It is run directly by adobe, not a third party company. You download an install file rather than an ISO that must be burned to a CD to install. The download is automatically registered to your name since they already have that info. Support is avalable. Considering this I highly doubt Adobe has authorized a third party that's selling ISOs that must be burned to CD, have no support at all, and can not be registered.

I just wanted to say that it takes a real moron to use the blockquote tag when he meant to use the href tag. What type of twit would do something that stupid?

Personally, I remain wary of any software that can't be registered with the manufacturer. The reasoning in my mind is that if it was 100% legal, then why wouldn't you be able to do so for starters? Even if it's OEM version (which isn't supposed to be sold separately anyway, from what I know of it). "Too good to be honest", in a way.

Now, I'm not sure that it necessarily means it's not an original software, but everytime I've seen the "can't be registered" mention somewhere, it always turned out to be non-legal software.

It's illegal for sure. I haven't found any adress of this company at the site, even not in their terms, where should be named an adress for legal issues and a place of jurisdiction. Considering their office times, it's probably located in eastern Europe, Near East or Africa.

To add:
If you do a whois query for newoem.com, you'll find the Korean registrar Yesnic Co., LTD as owner of the domain. So the office times maybe misleading, or Yesnic is a strawman.
